<p><strong>ABOUT GRAYS HARBOR COMMUNITY HOSPITAL – HARBOR CREST BEHAVIORAL HEALTH</strong></p> <p>Part of Grays Harbor Community Hospital of Aberdeen, Wash., 50 miles west of Olympia, Harbor Crest Behavioral Health provides <strong>short-term residential treatment and an intensive outpatient (IOP) program for adults</strong> struggling with chemical dependency. It is also amongst the just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">69 (16.1 percent)</a> treatment facilities in the state with a <strong>specialized program for pregnant women</strong>. Harbor Crest also offers medical detoxification on-site, an aspect of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">20 (4.6 percent)</a> Washington treatment centers.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, clients undergo an <strong>initial evaluation to determine the most appropriate level of care</strong> upon admission. If an individual requires stabilization, they will be referred to the short-term residential program.</p> <p>While the first phase of residential care is medical detoxification, stabilization also includes an <strong>introduction to the 12-step model of recovery</strong> and a structured schedule of <strong>group therapy</strong>, including gender-specific sessions. In addition, Harbor Crest provides drug testing and DUI assessments.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The center's website notes Harbor Crest Behavioral is led by a medical director certified in addiction medicine. Under the director’s guidance, treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, registered nurses, and addiction specialists. In the state of Washington, <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/report_3059/ShortReport-3059.pdf" target="_blank">99.6 percent</a> of all substance abuse treatment centers have continuing education requirements for staff. Although alum R.W. described the staff as “great” and “intelligent,” she did feel the program lacked a sense of compassion. The other anonymous alum gave four stars for the facility's counseling options and a perfect five-star rating for the likeliness they'd recommend the facility. “The facility treated me well and helped me through my drug addiction in 30 days,” they wrote.</p> <p>The six individuals who left Google reviews at the time of this writing gave an average rating of 2.3 out of five stars. However, some of the reviews were for other parts of the hospital.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> The one person who left commentary for the behavioral health area, in particular, gave five stars. "Harborcrest rehab. The best. They care ,on an individual, ask me. Thank you Harborcrest," D.C. wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing submitted four out of five stars for every one of the 15 areas of treatment evaluated, including the level of family participation, counseling options, and the facility's visitor policies. The loved one described the program as “visitor friendly and effective,” though they did suggest that the facility could use more outpatient-based services.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the center's website, Harbor Crest Behavioral Health accepts several <strong>private insurance</strong> plans, including Aetna, Cigna, and First Choices, as well as <strong>Medicare</strong> (accepted amongst <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">29.8 percent of</a> treatment centers in the state).
