<p><strong>ABOUT PROVIDENCE DEPAUL CLINIC</strong></p> <p>The DePaul Clinic, one of more than a dozen clinics operated by The Providence Health Alliance, is a <strong>state-licensed and CARF-accredited psychiatric and substance abuse facility</strong> in Waco, Texas. Along with serving adults, this center is amongst the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/TX16.pdf" target="_blank">137 (28.1 percent)</a> in the state with specifically-tailored programming for <strong>children and adolescents,</strong> and one of the only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/TX16.pdf" target="_blank">87 (17.8 percent)</a> Texas clinics with <strong>seniors programming.</strong></p> <p>This is also one of the only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/TX16.pdf" target="_blank">44 (nine percent)</a> of non-hospital treatment centers in the state with <strong>detox services</strong> available on-site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Prospective clients may enroll in the <strong>partial hospitalization (PHP) program or short-term inpatient program</strong> designed to address acute psychiatric or substance abuse concerns. Per its website, however, the clinic does not offer residential, long-term inpatient treatment or outpatient counseling services. However, DePaul Clinic does offer an <strong>intensive outpatient program (IOP) for seniors</strong>.</p> <p>To help stabilize clients, the facility may utilize a range of evidence-based treatment approaches, such as <strong>coping skills workshops</strong>, counseling sessions, recreational therapy, as well as pharmacological intervention and medication management.</p> <p>Depending on their specific needs, clients may receive <strong>electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)</strong> to treat depression. Support groups and community educational programs also take place here, and referrals to other resources are available, when necessary.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The DePaul Clinic staffs a team of <strong>four board-certified psychiatric physicians</strong>. In the state of Texas, <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/report_3059/ShortReport-3059.pdf" target="_blank">98 percent of </a> substance abuse treatment facilities have continuing education requirements for staff. The sole former client polled by Rehabs.com to date awarded four out of five stars to the staff level of support, and the single loved one to respond at the time of this writing gave staff level of experience and training three stars. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, there has been one alum polled by Rehabs.com. This alum gave the facility a positive review, awarding five stars for accommodations &amp; amenities and five stars for meals &amp; nutrition. D.W. entered rehab for substance abuse and stayed for fewer than 14 days, completed treatment successfully, and did not enter sober living after leaving the facility. D.W. has been out of the facility for over 12 months. The client agreed that it was worth the cost, noting that he did not relapse.</p> <p>D.W. gave five stars for the quality of conflict resolution in group counseling, five stars for the quality of the lead counselor, and five stars for the consistency of meetings. The alum added additional commentary, writing: β€œThe facility had good food to eat and it was pretty ni the area I was in.”</p> <p>On average, he attended nine group sessions a week and felt that the program took into account his personal preferences when constructing groups. D.W.’s insurance was accepted and he strongly agrees that the program was worth the cost.</p> <p>Twelve Google reviews revealed somewhat more <strong>mixed experiences</strong> at the time of this writing, producing an average rating of <strong>2.9 stars out of five stars</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Several comments described the staff "rude" and the facilities "filthy." A few reported high costs, and one anonymous reviewer wrote: "The staff will not even let you get close to the door even if you HAVE insurance." </p> <p>A moderate reviewer noted that the facility was typically busy, but that the staff tried their best, and a positive reviewer praised the facility. "The entire nursing staff was out of this world amazing, compassionate and knowledgeable," the alum wrote.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, there has been one loved one polled by Rehabs.com. The anonymous loved one agreed that the facility was clean and well maintained; that the treatment plan was affordable and/or payment plans, scholarships, or financial assistance were made available; and that the admissions and discharge procedures were swift, organized, and clearly explained. She felt that a strength of the facility was the friendly atmosphere, but noted that the facility could improve upon the weak treatment programs and lack of amenities.
