Editorial Review

ABOUT THE SALVATION ARMY GREATER HOUSTON: ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER

Located on Washington Avenue, just northwest of downtown Houston, the Salvation Army of Houston’s Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a free, multi-phase residential addiction treatment program for men.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The recovery curriculum at this ARC consists of work therapy (often assisting at Salvation Army stores), daily prayer/worship, education, recreation, and private and group counseling. Men also receive healthcare.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

There is currently no information provided by the ARC regarding its treatment staff.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Following the core residential treatment program, men move into a transitional living home to help prepare for a successful community reentry. A Rehabs.com survey respondent, in addition, gave the ARC three stars for its accommodations and five stars for its meals.

WHAT STAFF SAY

In the sole survey response for Rehabs.com to date, an anonymous staff member gave the ARC mostly ratings of three stars for its holistic and exercise options, family participation, co-occurring treatment, and four stars for treatment effectiveness. They also told Rehabs.com of “Good care,” but felt that checking in took “Too long.”

FINANCING

According to the Salvation Army of Houston’s website, all recovery programs are provided “free of charge."
