ABOUT THE LOVETT CENTER

The Lovett Center is a community of licensed therapists in central Houston dedicated to treating individuals with substance abuse issues, mood disorders, trauma, grief, and relationship issues. The center’s intensive outpatient program (IOP), Pathos, offers separate tracks for adolescents, young adults, and professionals struggling with these and other issues.

The Lovett Center is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Services at Pathos are organized into two different tracks and three client populations: teens (those between the ages of 12 and 17), young adults (18-29), and working professionals. Each group has access to a psychological track, for common mental health issues like depression and anxiety, personality disorders, and a dual diagnosis track that uses the 12 Steps in treating addiction.

Pathos is an eight-week program that’s broken down into three phases. In Phase I: Restoration, participants attend one-on-one counseling, various weekly groups including process groups, skills groups, family groups, and trauma-informed yoga. Following Phase II: Transformation, which the facility provides few details on, clients proceed with a minimum of six months of aftercare in Phase III: Integration.

Additional services based on each client’s need may include eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EDMR), nutritional support, vocational assessments, mindfulness meditation, and more.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The large clinical staff of more than 50 include licensed professional counselors, licensed master’s level social workers, doctoral level psychologists, and other professionals with advanced degrees.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, though all 12 Facebook users to date awarded the facility five out of five stars.[1] “This is an amazing group of professionals who live their community and out their hearts into all they put their hands to!!” wrote Julie in one such five-star report.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

In the one survey response for Rehabs.com to date, a loved one named Mike was quite critical. He gave only one out of five stars for a variety of metrics including those measuring treatment effectiveness, staff availability and training, program affordability, and more. He found that staff were “inexperienced,” criticizing them for having “made constant treatment errors.”

FINANCING

According to the center’s website, “the majority of the clinicians are not currently participating in managed care insurance plans” though sliding scale fees may be available.

[1] https://www.facebook.com/pg/TheLovettCenter/reviews/?ref=page_internal
