ABOUT ADDICTION CAMPUSES OF TENNESSEE – SPRING 2 LIFE

A tranquil, faith-based, multi-step recovery experience is offered at Addiction Campuses of Tennessee. Located in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the treatment center offers residential treatment and a transitional living program, which is called Spring 2 Life. The program specializes in substance abuse, behavioral disorders, prescription drug addiction, and is one of the 116 (51.1 percent) in the state with specially-tailored programming for individuals seeking dual diagnosis treatment.

Additional services include intervention and medically-supervised detoxification, making it one of the state's only 27 (11.9 percent) non-hospital treatment centers with this offering.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility's website, length of stay varies from one client to the next, but requires a minimum commitment of four months of residential treatment. Clients undergo an evaluation of their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual progress each month. At the end of every 30-day period, those who receive grades of A or B can move onto the next level.

The program utilizes biblical principles and a comprehensive, Christian-based treatment plan that is customized to each client’s needs. Programming includes individual, group, and family counseling, along with life skills education. Residents also participate in an eight-session interactive program called GEARS that addresses addiction as the by-product of unmet human needs. Assisting with maintenance, chores and meal preparation is expected.

After successful completion of the residential phase of treatment, clients move onto transitional living, which typically lasts 90 days. Individuals are required to find employment at this stage, and are allowed to use weekend passes to visit friends and family (taking drug tests upon return). There are mandatory classes every evening as well, which may include an educational program, group sessions, worship, or alumni meetings.

Other activities include one-on-one support from a mentor/life coach, weekly classes with the goal of reinforcing the practice of healthy new habits, behaviors and skills, and supportive alumni gatherings.

For aftercare, graduates are encouraged to participate in Catapult, a Christian alumni program that reinforces the concept that addiction no longer controls clients’ lives.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The center's website notes the treatment team includes clinical directors, therapists, life skills coaches, and pastors.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Called The Lodge, the cozy 15-bed residential facility is surrounded by 10 acres of wooded land, complete with serene walking trails and creeks. Residents live in shared, dorm-style rooms, and are allowed to bring along MP3 players and other music, but their playlists will be monitored by staff, according to the center's website. The transitional living facility, Hope House, is set in a straightforward two-story residential home.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The sole former client to provide Rehabs.com with feedback to date expressed concerns regarding the costliness of the facility. "If you don't have any money......." R.S. commented, "they can't help you." However, R.S. provided three stars for overall treatment effectiveness and four stars for meals and nutrition.

On Google, Addiction Campuses as a whole, received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with 29 individuals offering the organization an average rating of 4.7 out of five stars[1].
