<p><strong>ABOUT PLACE OF HOPE</strong></p> <p>Located in Columbia, Tenn., Place of Hope offers Christian-based <strong>substance abuse services for adult men and women</strong>, including treatment for <strong>co-occurring disorders</strong>. Options include <strong>residential inpatient treatment, outpatient-based programs, and aftercare.</strong></p> <p>Medically supervised detox services are not available.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The process at Place of Hope starts with a thorough evaluation and mental assessment to determine the client's needs. Programs vary by intensity and duration, depending on the individual's needs, from a <strong>residential inpatient program</strong> where clients live on-site to an <strong>intensive outpatient program (IOP) and traditional outpatient tracks.</strong> Treatment consists of <strong>one-on-one and group counseling, spiritual support, and relapse prevention</strong>. Family can participate in therapy sessions. Basic adult education services are provided on-site to help clients earn their General Equivalency Diploma (GED).</p> <p>When clients successfully complete treatment, they can use Place of Hope’s aftercare services, which include individual and group counseling, spiritual support, relapse prevention groups, as well as a <strong>transitional housing/halfway house program.</strong> </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Place of Hope is licensed by the state as a residential and halfway house, alcohol and drug treatment center. The professional team consists of licensed treatment and family services counselors, behavioral health support staff, and administrative coordinators. Volunteer doctors and nurses provide free medical treatment two nights per week.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The primary <strong>64-bed facility</strong> is a converted nursing home, equipped an on-site conference room and kitchen.</p> <p>The transitional living program is based in downtown Columbia along Woodland Street. Seven facilities have been converted to transitional housing for Place of Hope and the organization is working on acquiring resources to rehabilitate five more houses.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The only alum polled by Rehabs.com at time of writing offered <strong>positive feedback</strong>, awarding the facility a perfect five star rating for accommodations/amenities and meals and nutrition. The alum also assigned five stars to the staff’s level of training and experience, staff availability and support, cleanliness, and exercise and leisure opportunities, all of which helped this person break free from drugs after 17 years of abuse. The alum highlighted opportunities for improvement by giving individual counseling, the facility’s marketing materials, and the number of therapy groups only one out of five stars. This alum wanted Rehabs.com to know: “i loved the place and the owner is the greatest person with a big heart” and noted the program “gave me the right tools to look at life without drugs.”</p> <p>On the facility's Facebook page, which the organization can manage, Place of Hope received <strong>highly positive feedback</strong> from 35 reviews, which averaged 4.9 out of five stars to date. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Of note is the fact that all but two reviews were a perfect five stars. Most alumni <strong>credited the facility with saving their lives</strong>, such as Sonya, who wrote: “Place of Hope literally saved my life...It's not the first rehab I have been to..... Just the only one that worked!” </p> <p>Similarly, Alum M. praised the facility in his post: “An Amazing place where one can learn to live life clean &amp; sober with God as his guide! There aren't any words to describe all that is offered at this Place of Hope! Miracles transpire daily!” </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The only loved one polled by Rehabs.com to date provided <strong>mixed feedback</strong> about Place of Hope. Although this individual awarded the facility four or five out of five stars for meals and nutrition, connectivity, and affordability, the loved one gave three out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and just two stars for accommodations and amenities, holistic offerings, counseling options, and the facility’s cleanliness. The loved one noted the organization needed more funding.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, Place of Hope was created for homeless and low-income clients who can’t afford care elsewhere.
