<p><strong>ABOUT SPARTANBURG COUNTY- THE FORRESTER CENTER</strong></p> <p>Located in Spartanburg, S.C., the Forrester Center for Behavior Health provides <strong>outpatient treatment to adults and adolescents</strong> struggling with substance abuse, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>All clients receive a <strong>comprehensive assessment</strong> upon admission to determine the appropriate level of care. Pregnant women and intraveneous drug users are given priority for admission.</p> <p>Treatment options at Forrester Center includes outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Separate tracks in these are available for adults and adolescents making The Forrester Center one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/SC17.pdf" target="_blank">46 facilities in South Carolina to offer a program specifically tailored to adolescents.</a>. These programs are evidence-based and consist of one-on-one counseling, and group therapy. Sessions are offered in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and on weekends. Up to fourteen days of <strong>medication assisted treatment (MAT)</strong> is available if necessary. </p> <p><strong>Additional programming for adolescents</strong> includes the Bridge Program which offers outpatient and IOP counseling services and the Summer Enrichment Program which focuses on prevention, education, treatment, and awareness for at risk adolescents. While there is no information currently available, the facility plans to soon offer a program called the Home Bound School Program.</p> <p>A Criminal Justice Alternative Program offers court-ordered educational classes on topics including substance abuse, anger management, and substance abuse. </p> <p>The ADSAP (Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program) program is a minimum 16 hour curriculum for DUI offenders. Forrester also offers a smoking cessation program for adults in developed by the American Lung Association.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, the treatment team includes <strong>master's-level and certified addiction counselors</strong>, as well as a licensed master social worker. Forrester is credentialed through the South Carolina Department of Health and is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/SC17.pdf" target="_blank">71 facilities in the state certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).</a> The one loved one surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the Forrester Center four out of five stars for its staff's level or training and experience.</p> <p><strong>REVIEWS</strong></p> <p>The sole individual polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the Forrester Center a mostly positive review, awarding the facility four out of five stars for its counseling options, its family participation, its treatment of <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>, and its cleanliness. </p> <p>The reviewer did note that follow-up and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare</a> were a weakness, and that the program was too short. Financial assistance is also offered to clients who qualify. The ADSAP program costs between $500 and $2500 determined by an assessment. Th smoking cessation program costs $50 and the Criminal Justice Alternative classes cost $20 each.
