The facility does not conduct physical examinations, psychiatric assessments, or blood work services.

During outpatient programs, clients are introduced to the philosophies and practices of the 12-step model of recovery and are expected to perform accompanying “step-work.” Utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), clinicians also facilitate counseling sessions in group, individual, and family settings.

In addition, clients participate in classroom discussions with others in recovery, helping clients to learn techniques for controlling impulses, avoiding triggers, and other relapse prevention strategies. Lasting three hours, IOP sessions are held in the morning and evening to accommodate client schedules.

Depending on the client’s needs, referrals for medication management and psychiatric care may be incorporated into care plans. Note, the facility does not offer food or additional amenities, as it offers outpatient services only.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The sole Rehabs.com survey respondent to date provided a largely positive review, awarding five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and adding, "Flexibility with appointments and very friendly. My experience has been very comfortable and easy."

FINANCING

AdCare Rhode Island's website indicates that most private and public insurance plans are accepted, as well as private pay.

CONCLUSION

In December of 2018, Clinical Services of Rhode Island’s (CSRI) Portsmouth, Greenville, and South Kingstown outpatient locations were consolidated with AdCare Rhode Island. To keep clients and family members informed, the facility offers both a regulated blog and quarterly newsletters.
