<p><strong>ABOUT ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE SERVICES INC OUTPATIENT SERVICES</strong> </p> <p>Servicing vulnerable populations, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc. (ADAS) offers a continuum of treatment for clients in Cameron, Elk, and McKean Counties in Pennsylvania. ADAS offers regular <strong>outpatient programs (OP)</strong> as well as one of the state's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/PA16.pdf" target="_blank">261 (49.4 percent)</a> <strong>intensive outpatient programs (IOP)</strong> to clients in several different locations, including Port Allegany. These services are available to adults, as well as <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">adolescents</a>, a feature of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/PA16.pdf" target="_blank">123 (32.3 percent)</a> substance abuse treatment centers in the state. </p> <p>This facility is also amongst the just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/PA16.pdf" target="_blank">22.7 percent</a> of Pennsylvania treatment centers with <strong>specifically-tailored programming for pregnant women.</strong> Detox services are not available but arrangements can be made with local hospital units.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Before beginning treatment, clients receive <strong>evaluations and assessments</strong> to determine an appropriate level of care. Hours at the Port Allegany clinic run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all weekdays other than Wednesday, when the hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.</p> <p>IOP treatment is a <strong>four- to six-month program</strong> running three days per week. Hours of treatment may occur either in the morning or afternoon depending on the client's schedule. Treatment plans are individualized and include <strong>individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family counseling.</a></strong> Clients also participate in <strong>12-step Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) groups</strong>. <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">Aftercare treatment</a> can be planned following treatment.</p> <p>In OP treatment, clients receive many of the same services on a less intense scale. <strong>Children of clients seeking recovery from substance use, no matter their age, may receive support services</strong>. Along with AA and NA, groups in OP include Al-Anon and Alateen. <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">Treatment for dual diagnosis</a> is also available.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>ADAS employs recovery support specialists, drug and alcohol residential workers. In Pennsylvania, <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/report_3059/ShortReport-3059.pdf" target="_blank">98.7 percent</a> of all substance abuse treatment facilities had higher education requirements for staff, as of 2016. Slightly higher, lukewarm ratings of three out of five stars were given for the holistic treatment offerings, family involvement in treatment, overall family programming, and the quality of mental health treatment.
