Residential rehab and outpatient clients also follow programming that draws on the 12-Steps alongside other treatment modalities. </p> <p>Clients participating in the IOP receive individual and group therapy, cognitive and reality therapy, and referrals to other services in the community to foster a lasting recovery. </p> <p>When appropriate, <strong>case management services</strong> are made available. Case management is an effective way of helping clients successfully establish sober lifestyles outside of treatment. Case managers can help with a variety of treatment options including making <strong>arrangements for a transitional home</strong>, GED training and testing referrals, and follow-up with criminal justice authorities.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team at Penn Behavioral Health includes a psychiatrist and registered nursing staff, as well as mental health technicians, addiction counselors, and social workers. The single individual polled to date by Rehabs.com on the medical center’s accommodations and amenities gave it four out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave positive feedback about Penn Behavioral Health. Alum T.G., who participated in six months of intensive outpatient treatment, gave the facility four out of five star ratings in almost all 15 metrics evaluated, including opportunities for exercise and leisure activities, the amount of staff support, and facility cleanliness. They also gave perfect five stars for the addiction staff's experience and felt prepared enough to prevent a relapse.</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>The two staff members polled by Rehabs.com to date about Penn Behavioral Health also suggested general satisfaction. Craig said: “PPMC really does care about the individuals they treat,” while Anthony noted: “It has diversity but is too worried about numbers. Best place for them.” Both respondents gave Wright 4 Penn Presbyterian Medical Center five out of five stars for most metrics evaluated, including tendency to put clients'’ interest first, the staff’s level of training and experience, treatment of co-occurring disorders, and fairness of pricing.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Penn Behavioral Health is one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/PA16.pdf" target="_blank">136 facilities in Pennsylvania that accepts Medicaid</a> and accepts most major insurance plans, including HMOs and CBH (Community Behavioral Health) plans. The Assessment Center can also work with uninsured clients to develop assistance plans to facilitate treatments.</p> <p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong></p> <p>Penn Behavioral Health continues to promote advancement and development in various fields including rehab. This is done through participation in the medical community as well as the community at large. Penn Behavioral Health is involved in awarding the <a href="http://www.med.upenn.edu/psychiatry/strecker_award.html" target="_blank">Strecker Annual Award</a>, as well as promoting new <a href="http://www.med.upenn.edu/psychiatry/awards.html" target="_blank">discoveries in medical journals</a>.</p>
