ABOUT MEDMARK TREATMENT CENTERS

MedMark Treatment Centers is a nationwide network of facilities that provides outpatient-based treatment services for adults struggling with opioid dependency. One of two Pennsylvania facilities, MedMark Treatment Center of Greensburg, a suburb of Pittsburg, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling services, and other supportive care services to treat opioid addiction. Although some exceptions may be considered, the facility specializes in treating adults who have dependent on opioids for at least one year.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Before beginning a treatment program, clients participate in an initial assessment and physical examination to help clinicians form an individualized treatment plan and to ensure MAT is a safe treatment approach. To treat its clientele, MedMark Treatment Centers utilize either methadone or Suboxone. Both opioid agonist medications, methadone and Suboxone are effective in alleviating withdrawal symptoms associated with prescription painkillers, heroin, Oxycontin, and other opioids. The evidence-backed medications also help to curb cravings.

Individual preference and clinical opinions may help determine which MAT program is more appropriate. While clients receive daily dosages to treat the physical symptoms associated with opioid dependency, MedMark Treatment Centers also requires clients to participate in counseling services to address the underlying mental and emotional difficulties that may contribute to addictive behavior. During the program, clients participate in both group and individual counseling sessions. In addition, clients attend educational classes and workshops on addiction, relapse prevention, and HIV/AIDS awareness.

As the client progresses through treatment, clinicians may gradually decrease the medication’s dosage as the client becomes increasingly stable in their recovery. Methadone and Suboxone maintenance programs are typically long-term, lasting for one year or longer. In compliance with state and federal regulations, clients are subject to random drug testing. Before completing the program, MedMark Treatment Centers offers extensive discharge planning services, which may include referrals to sober housing, medical care, vocational training, and other community-based resources.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The services of MedMark Treatment Centers of Greensburg are facilitated by a team of physicians experienced in addiction medicine, dosage nurses, licensed substance abuse counselors, and case managers.

REVIEWS

Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, affiliated friends or family members, or staff.
