ABOUT LIFE OF PURPOSE

Life of Purpose is a network of addiction and mental health treatment centers dedicated to serving adults seeking to reengage with their lives and young adults looking to get back on track with their lives. One of the organization’s four different facilities, and one of just 211 (42.0 percent) of private programs in the state of Pennsylvania, Life of Purpose in Bala Cynwyd offers evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment at multiple levels of outpatient care for adults between the ages of 17 and 65 and older in and around greater Philadelphia.

All three Life of Purpose locations in Pennsylvania also offers ambulatory (medication-assisted treatment) detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Life of Purpose works by incorporating a reality-based approach that assesses each client’s strengths and weaknesses. As an outpatient center and located in close proximity to the city, Life of Purpose of Bala Cynwyd caters to individuals seeking flexible community-oriented treatment that facilitates ongoing commitments to family, work, and school. Programming is available at partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and traditional levels of care.

At its core, Life of Purpose strives to help clients develop a skill set essential to maintaining a healthy, sober lifestyle. For some, that may require learning to identity and manage their ager and other emotions. Others spend their time addressing any past and/or current trauma. Amongst other modalities, the evidence-based curriculum at Life of Purpose makes use of cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior (DBT) therapies.

Life of Purpose also offers a range of specialized services for college students, adults seeking evening treatment, clients struggling with multiple relapses (REBOUND), and individuals in the criminal justice system (ALTERNATIVES). When appropriate, Life of Purpose invites families to learn more about substance use (SUD) and mental health recovery. Alumni receive assistance in pursuing their educational and employment goals as well as check-in calls at intervals of 30, 60, and 90 days upon successful program completion.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

As an organization, Life of Purpose is led by an executive director who’s a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). The Bala Cynwyd location is directed by a master’s level licensed professional counselor (LPC) with training and experience in dialectical behavior therapy.

WHAT STAFF SAY

While Rehabs.com has yet to receive any feedback from the facility’s alumni and affiliated friends or family members, a staff member only had positive things to share on the client experience at Life of Purpose. In addition to noting individualized care plans, a nonjudgmental environment, and a “Welcoming, well-trained, and caring staff,” the staff reviewer awarded their employer either four or five out of five stars for various areas such as family participation, counseling options, and the staff's professionalism.

FINANCING

According to its website, Life of Purpose accepts “most major medical plans,” making it just one of 350 (69.7 percent) of facilities in the state of Pennsylvania to accept private health insurance.
