<p><strong>ABOUT NORTHWEST CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH – LIGHTHOUSE SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM</strong></p> <p>Located in Woodward, Okla., the Northwest Center for Behavioral Health provides a variety of services that address mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse concerns. Among its offerings is the Lighthouse Substance Abuse Program, <strong>a long-term, residential program for adult men and women.</strong> It is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OK17.pdf" target="_blank">39 (20.4 percent) of short-term residential programs</a> in the state. For individuals with dual diagnoses, treatment for <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a></strong> is also available. <strong>Detox is not available</strong>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The Lighthouse Substance Abuse Program takes a <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/find-a-top-holistic-rehab-center/" target="_blank">holistic</a> approach to treatment. The residential program lasts up to 30 days, making it a long-term treatment options. The program uses a combination of counseling, group therapy, and alternative therapy methods to treat the underlying components of addiction. </p> <p>Throughout treatment, clients focus on developing the skills needed to be self-reliant and to guide their sober lifestyle. Every aspect of treatment is designed to teach clients sober living skills or to address the causes of addiction. </p> <p>The facility also uses recreational therapy options and exercise and fitness programs to teach clients healthier ways to live. </p> <p>The facility also hosts an outpatient program for mental health. The Northwest Center for Behavioral Health is a part of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OK17.pdf" target="_blank">74.3 percent of Oklahoma facilities</a> that offer mental health services. Clients receive counseling, as well as partner with counselors for case management help. They can review medications, conduct assessments, and even refer clients to other treatment options if needed. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on the facility's website or otherwise regarding its treatment staff. However, the three loved ones surveyed by Rehabs.com regarding the staff’s training and experience provided four out of five stars or higher when polled about the staff's level of training and experience.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Lighthouse can accommodate up to <strong>26 clients at a time.</strong> The facility is surrounded by grassy areas. The four individuals polled by Rehabs.com – three loved ones and one alum – provided the facility’s accommodations and amenities with an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p><strong>The one alum polled by Rehabs.com to date, Randy, provided a rating of five out of five stars</strong> when asked how likely they were to recommend Lighthouse to others. Randy submitted five out of five star ratings in most evaluated categories, including ratings for the center’s cleanliness, its exercise options, and its leisure activities. “Was a very structured place with great people. This is a great high intense well structured facility . The people where great,” he wrote. </p> <p>On CiteHealth, <strong>two of the three reviewers shared positive experiences</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Two alumni provided ratings of five out of five stars for their overall experiences, praising the “fantastic” staff and “excellent” program. “The counselors addressed the problem adequately and promptly… Lighthouse thought me how to live life and put a jumpstart to my recovery,” one reviewer wrote in a representative review. However, the third reviewer provided only two out of five stars for their overall experience, citing a lack of appropriate treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders, specifically eating disorders. “The threat of daily weigh-ins,staff members standing/sitting 1ft. away from me as I am trying to eat, unresticted exercising, not providing DAILY individual therapy, and limited literature, together combine a short list of how NOT to treat anyone with an eating disorder,” they wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>When asked how likely they were to recommend the Lighthouse to others, <strong>the three loved ones polled by Rehabs.com provided four out of five stars or higher.</strong> Two respondents commented on sub-par food, and one indicated that the program itself should have been longer, but <strong>all reported varying levels of success</strong> for their loved ones. “My loved one was helped a lot by going to this facility, the treatments there are fair and well implemented,” one reviewer wrote. Holistic offerings fared the worst, with a pair of four and a single three out of five star review.</p> <p>On Yellowpages.com, the family member of an alum described the center’s family day as “awesome” and educational, especially regarding topics including codependency and recovery for loved ones.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> “It also helped me and my loved one get through some issues facing us that we had a very hard time dealing with before,” they wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Northwest Center for Behavioral Health is one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OK17.pdf" target="_blank">127 (66.5 percent) of facilities in Oklahoma</a> that doesn’t turn away clients because of their inability to pay. Fees are based on a client’s income, family size, and insurance status.
