<p><strong>ABOUT GATEWAY TO PREVENTION & RECOVERY</strong></p> <p>Gateway To Prevention &amp; Recovery is a community-based treatment provider that offers a range of <strong>outpatient-based treatment services</strong> for adults and adolescents struggling with substance abuse, as well as being one of the state's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OK16.pdf" target="_blank">106 (52 percent)</a> facilities with a track for <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. With its headquarters in Shawnee, Okla., 38 miles east of Oklahoma City, GTPR operates through four facilities located in the communities of Shawnee, Seminole, Chandler, and Stillwater. </p> <p>In 2016, Gateway was designated as a CCARC (Comprehensive Community Addiction Recovery Center), allowing the treatment provider to offer <strong>medication-assisted therapy (MAT)</strong> and ambulatory detoxification services. In Oklahoma, the facility is among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OK17.pdf" target="_blank">9.9 percent of facilities</a> to provide <strong>outpatient-based detox services</strong>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon admission into the program, clients undergo an initial screening and assessment to determine individual client needs. Along with medication-assisted therapy, which may include <strong>Suboxone and Vivitrol</strong>, Gateway provides a range of evidence-based treatment approaches to identify and treat contributing factors of addictive behavior. To do so, <strong>Gateway facilitates both individual and group counseling sessions</strong>.</p> <p>Specialized group counseling sessions are also available that focus on co-occurring disorders commonly linked to addiction. Gateway holds group <strong>counseling sessions focused on depression, anxiety, and trauma</strong>. If necessary, Gateway provides referrals for clients who require psychiatric evaluations and medication management to diagnose and treat co-occurring mental health disorders.</p> <p>Along with substance abuse, Gateway also holds group sessions on other compulsive behaviors, such as problem gambling, eating disorders, shopping addiction, and sex addiction. In addition, Gateway offers an <strong>employee assistance program (EAP)</strong> and student assistance program that address the effects of substance abuse on work or school performance. <strong>Program tracks for DUI offenders are also available</strong>.</p> <p>According to the facility’s website, volunteers also regularly donate their time to provide clients with alternative treatment sessions. In the past, these group sessions have focused on nutrition, physical fitness, art therapy, job searching techniques, volunteerism, and money management. </p> <p><strong>Marriage and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help" target="_blank">family counseling</a></strong> are also offered to involve loved ones in the recovery process. In addition, loved ones are encouraged to participate in case management, assisting clinicians to form <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">comprehensive discharge plans</a></strong>. To promote sustained recovery, Gateway provides specialized aftercare groups for program alumni.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>CARF-accredited, Gateway To Prevention &amp; Recovery employs a multidisciplinary team comprised of licensed substance abuse and mental health counselors, case managers, family therapists, and social workers. In fact, <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/report_3059/ShortReport-3059.pdf" target="_blank">99.6 percent of</a> Oklahoma substance abuse treatment centers have higher education requirements for staff. Volunteers also assist in educational lectures.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Although Rehabs.com has yet to receive alumni feedback at the time of this writing, <strong>secondary sources revealed overall alumni approval</strong>. On its Facebook page, which Gateway To Prevention &amp; Recovery can manage, it earned <strong>4.9 out of five stars</strong> from 14 reviews to date.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> </p> <p>Alumni praised the <strong>kind staff members and the long term effectiveness of treatment.</strong> In a representative review, alum C.B. wrote, “I know I would not be clean and sober today without the Withdrawal Management Clinic they provide. The staff are caring, compassionate, and tolerant.”</p> <p>Four Google users also produced a high average rating of 4.5 out of five stars as of this writing.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> "They have the resources and counseling to help people no matter what your vises are," former client A.L. wrote.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The single loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing also praised the staff, offering a perfect five-star rating for the staff’s level of experience and training. In addition, the loved one gave five stars for the facility’s counseling options, as well as four stars for the level of family participation and its discharge planning. “Able to help someone cope with an addiction whether it be alcohol or drugs. it helps you help yourself which you have to want to,” the loved one wrote, adding that they would strongly recommend this center to others.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, Gateway provides its services regardless of the client’s ability to pay. Gateway accepts some private insurance plans and offers <strong>monthly payment plans</strong> and a <strong>sliding fee scale</strong> based on the client’s ability to pay. Subsidized services and scholarships are also available to help people who need financial assistance.
