<p><strong>ABOUT AMC OF COLUMBUS</strong></p> <p>Serving clients in the Columbus, Ohio area, AMC (short for Addiction Medicine Care) offers <strong>outpatient treatment</strong> to adults struggling with substance use disorder. The clinic specializes in providing <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/medication-assisted-treatment/" target="_blank">medication-assisted treatment (MAT)</a> to clients battling <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-are-opiate-addicts-so-hard-to-treat/" target="_blank">opioid addiction</a>. The physician then helps the client create a comprehensive treatment plan.</p> <p>MAT utilizes <strong>Suboxone</strong>, a medication option offered by <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">38 percent</a> of substance abuse treatment facilities in Ohio. Once the correct dosage is established, clients must schedule <strong>treatments at least every 28 days</strong> to remain active in the program.</p> <p>Clients must also participate in <strong>counseling</strong> while in the program. AMC offers individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family therapy</a>, as well as psychoeducation and specialized programs for <strong>codependency</strong>. Counseling services focus identifying and <strong>addressing problem behaviors</strong>, as well as educating clients about addiction. </p> <p>Clients will taper the use of Suboxone over time. The reviewer, a current executive who's been working at AMC for one to five years, awarded the Columbus facility five out of five stars for its staff's level of experience and training, and reported that they would recommend the clinic to friends and family. They also noted that they would consider AMC if they were ever in need of treatment themselves. "Our mission is to ensure that patients feel they are being addressed with empathy, respect and support throughout their treatment," they wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, AMC accepts of number of <strong>insurance plans</strong>, including Cigna, Aetna, and Humana.
