<p><strong>ABOUT ARROWHEAD BEHAVIORAL HEALTH</strong></p> <p>Arrowhead Behavioral Health is a <strong>private psychiatric hospital</strong> located in Maumee, Ohio. In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, the center offers a full continuum of care for adults struggling with substance abuse and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. Treatment options include <strong>detox, inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), and Suboxone maintenance</strong>. Additionally, the facility runs a specialized program for impaired professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, and dentists. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Before beginning treatment, clients first undergo a <strong>mental health assessment</strong> designed to help staff determine the most appropriate level of care. Individuals struggling with opiate or alcohol dependency typically start in the center’s detox program before moving on to inpatient or outpatient treatment. </p> <p>Duration of treatment varies, but most clients enrolled in Arrowhead Behavioral Health’s inpatient program remain on-site for an average of <strong>28 days</strong>. Clients adhere to a curriculum modeled after the <strong>12-Steps, participating in group therapy, individual therapy</strong>, ongoing individual assessments, psychoeducational groups, toxicology screenings, and <strong>medication management</strong>. </p> <p>Outpatient treatment, which includes a similar mix of modalities, is <strong>available at both IOP and PHP levels.</strong> Clients enrolled in the IOP program attend three-hour sessions three days a week for six weeks, and the PHP program runs Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Outpatient care may be used as <strong>stand-alone or step-down treatment.</strong> </p> <p>Clients who complete treatment are invited to attend <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">weekly alumni meetings</a> and other social activities scheduled throughout the year, including an annual summer picnic.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Arrowhead Behavioral Health’s treatment team includes physicians, psychiatrists, master’s-level therapists, nurses, social workers, and addiction counselors.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>According to the center’s website, Arrowhead Behavioral Health can house <strong>up to 48 individuals at a time</strong>. Clients share simple, <strong>dormitory-style bedrooms</strong> and have access to an on-site gymnasium and a laundry facility. Visitors over the age of 18 are allowed twice a week, and smoking is permitted. A <strong>housekeeping staff</strong> maintains the facility, including bedrooms. The six alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the center’s level of cleanliness a rating of 4.17 out of five stars. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>When asked how likely they were to recommend Arrowhead Behavioral Health to others, the six alumni polled by Rehabs.com provided an average rating of <strong>4.17 out of five stars</strong>. Respondents were particularly <strong>impressed with the staff’s level of training and experience</strong>, which they rated 4.17 out of five stars. “The employee's there are very understanding, and caring people,” P.R. wrote in a representative review. The center’s counseling options, its affordability, its connectivity/visitor policies, and its exercise and leisure options all received above-average ratings of 3.17, 3.33, 3.5, and three stars, respectively. Terry highlighted the center’s individualized care, writing, “Physchiatrist were ready to assist and put me on a different medication cocktail that was best for me.” </p> <p>Alumni polled by Rehabs.com submitted <strong>lower ratings for the center’s holistic offerings and its family participation</strong>, both of which received 2.67 stars. Kay felt that there was “not enough exercise time,” and Tiffany told Rehabs.com that the center needed “more options of wellness programs.”</p> <p>Overall, <strong>reviews submitted to third-party sites tended to be more negative</strong>. On Google, 24 users provided an average rating of 2.6 out of five stars<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, and 12 CiteHealth users gave the facility an average rating of 1.83 out of five stars<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small>. On both sites, those who shared negative experiences <strong>complained about “rude” staff and a lack of organization, which sometimes led to subpar treatment</strong>. “After two days without seeing a doctor (i saw one, at first, and liked him!) I filed a written complaint and the next day was discgarged, with no aftercare plan, no warning, nothing,” Allen wrote on Google. An anonymous CiteHealth user shared a similar complaint, writing, “Arrowhead pushes people off to the side quite blatantly.”</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The one loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing noted that they would not recommend Arrowhead Behavioral Health to others, giving the center below-average ratings in every evaluated category, including the program’s counseling options, its family involvement, and the facility’s accommodations. “The system is broken, too hard to get help and continue treatment!” they told Rehabs.com. </p> <p>The majority of friends and family members who submitted reviews on Google and CiteHealh were also <strong>disappointed with the care their loved ones received</strong>.
