<p><strong>ABOUT MARYHAVEN AT THE MILLS CENTER</strong></p> <p>Maryhaven at the Mills Center, located in Marysville, Ohio, <strong>offers residential and outpatient treatment and services to adults, adolescents, children, and families seeking treatment for substance abuse</strong> and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurirng disorders</a>. Aside from substance abuse and mental disorders, Maryhaven also provides treatments for gambling addiction, family services, and homeless services. Maryhaven is one of the oldest and most comprehensive behavioral health centers in Central Ohio. </p> <p>First founded as an alcohol treatment facility for women in 1953 by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, the facility has now grown to offer comprehensive services through 26 different programs in six locations throughout Central and North Ohio. The Mills Center location offers care to residents of Union County. Detox is not available on site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The Mills Center location offers a variety of treatment and support <strong>services for all ages</strong>, making it one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">118 facilities in the state to provide services to adolescents</a>. The facility uses a comprehensive care approach to treating clients focusing on addressing the underlying causes of their conditions. Treatment plans are based on initial assessments, and Maryhaven is one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">356 substance abuse facilities in the state</a> that conducts mental health screenings in addition to substance abuse screening. </p> <p><strong>A crisis hotline, 24-hour crisis services, and a crisis intervention team are available for clients with acute needs</strong>. Clients can contact the facility and receive treatments, assessments, and additional help at any time. In many cases, clients are admitted to the residential program to begin treatment and to stabilize. There is also a crisis stabilization center that clients can be referred to.</p> <p>The facility offers gender-specific programs, which are <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">offered in less than half of all facilities in Ohio</a>. Parallel programs are available for both groups as well as for adolescents, children, and clients with legal requirements.</p> <p>Clients have access to <strong>medically-assisted treatment (MAT) services</strong> during their stay. Treatments are overseen by trained medical personnel and are designed to help clients overcome the effects of withdrawal. The facility is a part of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">41.1 percent of facilities that use Vivitrol</a>, the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">37.9 percent that use suboxone</a>, and the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">4.6 percent of facilities that use Methadone</a>.</p> <p>Clients that are homeless also have access to services designed to help them get back on their feet. Their treatment plans often include mental health treatments and stabilization methods so that they can return to the community successfully. Maryhaven has access to a temporary/overnight center for homeless men that can help them begin the recovery process. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team includes <strong>physician addiction specialists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, counselors, and nurses</strong> along with the Senior Management team. Maryhaven is one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">216 facilities in the state</a> that are accredited by CARF.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Clients have access to medical and counseling staff members at all times during their stay. They stay in <strong>gender and age-specific housing</strong>, as well as the homeless shelter operated by Maryhaven. The facility focuses on creating a dorm and home-like environment where clients can focus on their recovery. Each facility has access to a pharmacy, counseling spaces, living spaces, group areas, and meeting rooms. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong> </p> <p>On the facility’s Google page, there is an overall rating of <strong>two out of five stars based on five total reviews</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> While C.S. wrote “They will help you if you want help,” Anthony wrote that it was the “WORST PLACE EVER!!!”</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing there has been one friend or family member polled by Rehabs.com about Maryhaven. The anonymous loved one gave a brief and neutral review of the facility. She gave three out of five stars for its holistic offerings, facility cleanliness, and exercise and leisure opportunities. She noted that a strength of the facility was the people there but that the facility could improve upon the classes offered. Overall, she agreed that she would recommend this facility to another friend or loved one who was considering rehab.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to HealthGrove, Maryhaven accepts private insurance plans, and is one of the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">175 Ohio facilities</a> that accept state-funded insurance (other than Medicaid). <strong>Military Insurance and Access to Recovery (ATR) Vouchers are also accepted</strong>. For clients that use self-pay, are underinsured, or are uninsured, sliding fee scales are available based on each clients’ income. A loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave three out of five stars for affordability.</p> <p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong></p> <p>Maryhaven is a big proponent of working together to help the community.
