ABOUT ADAMS RECOVERY CENTER – WOMEN’S FACILITY

The Adams Recovery Center (ARC) offers individualized, gender-specific substance abuse treatment to adults. Located in Loveland, Ohio, the facility for women provides long-term residential treatment, intensive outpatient services, and assessment. Clients with co-occurring mental health disorders are admitted on a case-by-case basis, and Suboxone maintenance is available for clients experiencing opiate withdrawal.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Clients who are in crisis can often receive same-day assessments and admission into the residential program. Treatment length varies between 90 and 180 days. Treatment scheduling is highly structured, including group counseling, sober support meetings, chores, and free time.

Blending a therapeutic community model with evidence-based practices—including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT)—treatment includes five hours of daily group therapy. Clients also participate in individual counseling once per week and optional 12-step meetings.

In order to visit clients, loved ones must attend a group session on Saturday mornings. Clients in need of outpatient care may receive home visits for 75 to 90 days.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes registered nurses, licensed professional counselors, and licensed and certified drug and alcohol counselors.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

ARC is a relatively nondescript facility with no amenities mentioned on the website. Clients are provided with three meals a day and are allowed to bring their own drinks (e.g. bottled water or juice), but cell phones and most electronic devices are prohibited. Smoking is allowed at designated times and areas.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Alumni reviews of the women’s ARC facility are currently limited, but those submitted to Rehabs.com to date are positive. Reviewer O.M., who gave the facility five stars for treatment effectiveness and meals, wrote: “Good place, good staff. Really helped me turn it around.” Alum Blair similarly reported: “I graduated and I live a sober life today with boundaries, morals, and disipline. I didn't know how to live before and they taught me it's a great program for those ready to change.”

On Facebook, where a facility can manage its own page, 13 reviewers to date rated ARC an average 4.1 out of five stars, with nine positive reviews, two mixed, and two negative ones.[1] Alumni mostly expressed gratitude toward the program and its compassionate staff, with alum Mindy writing: "The staff is family the house is family and I can honestly say they helped me find the woman I am today!"

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Loved ones polled by Rehabs.com to date were more critical of ARC. The mother of a former client, Margaret, complained to Rehabs.com about the facility’s Suboxone program: “Convenient that they get to keep my 350 bucks by written contract regardless of them no keeping their end of verbal agreement witnessed by several employees." Another parent, J.F.A. was disappointed by the facility’s intake procedures and lack of responsiveness to phone calls.

FINANCING

According to ARC’s website, the facility accepts Medicaid and most private insurance plans. The fee for Suboxone treatment is $350.

[1] https://www.facebook.com/Adams-Recovery-Center-299618506715178/reviews/
