<p><strong>ABOUT THE LCADA WAY</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1981, the LCADA Way is a <strong>privately owned nonprofit</strong> that operates seven rehab treatment facilities throughout Ohio. The LCADA Way facility in Lorian, Ohio, offers a complete range of alcohol, drug and behavioral health programs to <strong>women, families, and adolescents</strong>. Treatment options include <strong>outpatient, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/forums/categories/iop-outpatient-alcohol-treatment" target="_blank">intensive outpatient (IOP)</a>, residential, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/drug-and-alcohol-detoxification-process/" target="_blank">detox</a>, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare</a> services</strong>.</p> <p>The Lorian facility is one of 188 <a href="(https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">rehabs in Ohio</a> (46 percent of all rehabs in the state) to offer a treatment <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/reclaiming-the-feminine-in-recovery/" target="_blank">program specifically tailored to women</a></strong>, one of 118 (28.9 percent) to offer a <strong>program specifically tailored to adolescents</strong>, and one of 82 (20 percent) to offer a <strong>program specifically tailored to pregnant or postpartum women</strong>.</p> <p>Other LCADA Way treatment locations offer similar services to men as well as programs for individuals who suffer from problem gambling.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, assessments typically take between two and three hours depending on individual circumstances. The <strong>individualized treatment programs</strong> all involve some forms of rehabilitation, medial services, parenting training and coaching, vocational and educational services, and assistance with supportive housing. A <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">2017 SAMHSA survey</a> indicates that 42.5 percent of rehabs in Ohio offer vocational counseling or training for clients.</p> <p>The Key, the Lorain location's <strong>residential facility</strong> for women, utilizes research based models of care and a <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-a-non-religious-journalist-makes-a-case-for-aa-in-2017/" target="_blank">12-step</a> recovery process</strong>. The length of treatment is based on each client's needs. </p> <p>The day treatment program helps clients develop the support, skills, and tools need to remain sober. According to a <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">2017 SAMHSA survey</a>, 37.9 of rehabs in Ohio utilize Suboxone.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The LCADA Way's website notes that the treatment team includes counselors and a psychologist. The four individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date had positive opinions of the staff.</p> <blockquote> <p>Staff Experience &amp; Training: 4/5</p> </blockquote> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Though there is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings, an <a href="http://www.chroniclet.com/Local-News/2018/07/11/The-LCADA-Way-to-expand-beds-offer-more-treatment-services-to-women.html" target="_blank">article in the Chronicle Telegram</a>, a local newspaper, indicated that the Key Women’s Services Center recently expanded its 16-bed program to <strong>21 beds</strong>, with plans to increase to 36 total beds in the near future. The four individuals polled on the matter praised the generally upkeep of the facility.</p> <blockquote> <p>Facility Cleanliness and Upkeep: 4.8/5</p> </blockquote> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mostly positive feedback. In particular, they collectively gave high four- and five-star ratings for the facility's connectivity and visitor policies, cleanliness, and affordability. They both also indicated that they were likely to recommend the facility to others.</p> <p>"Help let you leatn about self and eliminated the stuff going.on in the putside world," alum S.S. wrote in a representative review. The other alum gave four stars for every category, including its treatment for <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders.</a> The alum noted counseling as a strength, but also wrote that treatment was too long.</p> <p>On LCADA's official Facebook page, which the organization's staff can manage, 30 individuals contributed to an <strong>average rating of 4.5 stars</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> However, it should be noted that the Facebook reviews do not specify which of LCADA's facilities they are referencing.</p> <p>Numerous alumni on Facebook credited LCADA with saving their lives and praised staff. In a representative review, Kristen wrote: "This program and the amazing staff saved my life. If you or someone you know is battling addiction, reach out. They just might save your life as well." Though few reviews were negative, one alum complained of long wait times for entry to the residential program.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The two loved ones surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided positive feedback. In particular, they both gave high four- and five-star ratings to the facility's counseling options, connectivity, family participation, and overall treatment, among most other metrics evaluated.
