<p><strong>ABOUT NEW DESTINY TREATMENT CENTER</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1993 and located in Clinton, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, New Destiny Treatment Center (NDTC) is private nonprofit facility; and is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 86 (21 percent) of Ohio treatment facilities</a> that offers <strong>residential treatment services.</strong> Residential treatment is for <strong>men who are struggling with substance abuse</strong>. The <strong>faith-based treatment program requires a nine-month commitment</strong>. NDTC also offers <strong>medication-assisted treatment (MAT)</strong> to alleviate the discomfort of withdrawal. In addition to its residential program, <strong>ambulatory MAT and an outpatient program (OP)</strong> are available to both adult men and women.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to New Destiny Treatment Center's website, before beginning treatment, clients contact the facility to ensure the residential program is an appropriate option. NDTC <strong>blends evidence-based treatment approaches with Christian philosophies and practices.</strong></p> <p>During residential treatment, clients adhere to a highly-structured schedule. Programming includes <strong>group, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family</a> and individual counseling</strong>, along with nutrition education, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-understanding-anger-revolutionizes-addiction-recovery/" target="_blank">anger management</a>, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/did-aa-save-my-life/" target="_blank">12-step</a> programs, medication management, daily exercise, and nightly chapels. </p> <p>Clients attend <strong>four 45-minute educational classes Monday through Thursday</strong> and <strong>two hours of group counseling each weekday</strong>. They also receive <strong>weekly individual counseling</strong> and attend regular worship services, spiritual counseling groups, devotionals, and Bible study classes.</p> <p>To promote lasting lifestyle changes, clients are required to maintain an exercise schedule and perform daily chores. <strong>G.E.D. preparation and testing</strong> and vocational training opportunities are available. In addition, the treatment center is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 168 (41 percent) of Ohio treatment centers</a> to offer Vivitrol. It's an evidence-based addiction medication to help curb opioid and/or alcohol cravings during residential treatment. To ensure the safety of the residential program, clients are <strong>subject to regular toxicology screenings</strong>.</p> <p>Along with its residential program, NDTC is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 163 (39.9 percent) of Ohio treatment facilities</a> to have a Methadone maintenance outpatient program. Suboxone is designed to alleviate withdrawal symptoms associated with opioid dependency and help minimize cravings. Outpatient clients attend counseling and relapse prevention sessions, see a doctor once a month, and are subjected to drug testing. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>New Destiny Treatment Center's website notes all treatment programming is facilitated by chemical dependency counselors licensed by the state of Ohio. The facility also employs a medical director and nursing staff. Spiritual activities and worship services may be led by religious leaders. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Set on <strong>13 acres, the 65-bed facility offers a comfortable, supportive environment</strong> . While information is limited concerning the living arrangements, the facility features a <strong>weight room, basketball court, and volleyball court</strong>. Clients also enjoy supervised off-site activities throughout their stay at the facility. Made him a whole new person who is now helping others,” Jacque posted in a representative five out of five star review.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, Ohio Medicaid covers the cost of residential treatment for men. However, clients are responsible for the monthly copay of medications.
