In addition to attending counseling in one-on-one and group sessions, clients typically participate in case management services. The 2016 National Directory of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Treatment Facilities lists trauma-informed practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy among the modalities used at CIRC.

Community members also have access at CIRC to Naloxone training and kits for reducing overdoses, as reported in a Stark County document.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Beyond general references to licensed professionals, there is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff. The sole individual polled by Rehabs.com to date rated the staff's level of training and experience three out of five stars.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Google maps locates Crisis Intervention and Recovery Center's McKinley Avenue facility in a busy, mixed residential and business neighborhood. The alum felt that the facility was remarkably effective as a short-term (5 to 7 day) detox program, but that relapse was common amongst individuals when needed long-term inpatient treatment. The alum did not offer ratings for several metrics, but indicated moderate three out of five star ratings for accommodations and amenities, meals and nutrition, cleanliness, the facility's overall effectiveness. "Though it is only a detox center they go out of their way to make you comfortable and everyone there(staff) is extremely friendly and understanding," Amber wrote.

Secondary review sites yielded polarized perspectives. On Yellowpages.com, one reviewer, whose opinion changed during the time he was in treatment, agreed about the caring staff and effectiveness of early treatment. "Most of the workers were awsome and truely compasionate," he wrote, also reporting that he found the therapeutic atmosphere even more helpful than the medication provided.[1]

On the other hand, three alumni each granted the McKinley facility only one out of five stars on Google, complaining of disorganization and patronizing staff members. Two other reviews were more favorable. "The counselors are wonderful as well as the receptionists but I'm afraid I can't say the same for the rest of the staff," Jennifer wrote, after four years of outpatient treatment.[2]

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

An alum's sibling reported in data submitted to Rehabs.com that they would recommend CIRC to others, even though they agreed with the alum polled that longer-term treatment would be helpful. The loved one appreciated the helpful referral to ongoing treatment elsewhere, which CIRC provided.

FINANCING

According to CIRC's Facebook page, funds from Stark County, United Way, and other donations and grants supplement fees to cover the cost of services.
