<p><strong>ABOUT PREFERRED CARE INC.</strong></p> <p>In operation since 2011, Preferred Care is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NC17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 194 (41.1 percent) of North Carolina treatment facilities</a> to provide <strong>intensive outpatient programming (IOP)</strong> for individuals struggling with <strong>substance abuse and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring mental health disorders</strong></a> in Raeford, N.C. </p> <p>In addition to offering treatment for chemical dependency, the center runs a food bank, and is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NC17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 218 (46.2 percent) of treatment facilities</a> in the state to provide HIV case management. The center <strong>offers psycho-social rehabilitation for adults and children</strong>. Similar services are also available through a separate facility located in South Carolina. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon admission, each client receives an <strong>initial clinical assessment</strong>. Based on evaluation findings, Preferred Care’s treatment team works with the client to create an <strong>individualized recovery plan</strong>. In general, treatment plans utilize the <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/did-aa-save-my-life/" target="_blank">12-step</a> model</strong> and a variety of other modalities that <strong>recognize addiction as a disease</strong>, not a moral failure. Participants who have been diagnosed with co-occurring mental health disorders are provided with specialized care. </p> <p>Sessions last <strong>three hours</strong> and are offered <strong>twice a day</strong>, Monday through Friday. Lunch is provided. The center is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NC17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 177 (37.5 percent) of North Carolina treatment facilities</a> to offer transportation assistance upon request.
