<p><strong>ABOUT UHS DELAWARE VALLEY HOSPITAL ADDICTION TREATMENT PROGRAMS</strong></p> <p>United Health Services (UHS) is a regional healthcare system with more than 60 locations in south central New York, including a <a href="http://www.rehabs.com/listings/uhs-new-horizons-alcohol-chemical-dependency-treatment-center-1945264215/" target="_blank">chemical dependency treatment center</a> and <a href="http://www.rehabs.com/listings/uhs-binghamton-general-hospital-2392554377/" target="_blank">general hospital</a> in Binghamton.</p> <p>One of these facilities, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, is a medical center in the rural town of Walton. The length of stay at UHS Delaware varies, based on a client’s individual needs.</p> <p>Treatment includes daily informational <strong>lectures, group and individual therapy, nutrition counseling, on-site 12-step meetings, and recreational therapy</strong>, in addition to family support and education. </p> <p>Clients also learn relaxation techniques, stress management, and relapse prevention strategies. The center offers nicotine consultation services for those interested in quitting smoking as well. <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">Aftercare plans</a> are developed before discharge with each client including referrals to agencies, as needed.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>UHS Delaware Valley Hospital’s Addiction Treatment Programs are certified by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Treatment staff include credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors, physicians, registered nurses, and certified dietitians. To date, the one alum surveyed on the matter by Rehabs.com offered a favorable rating for the staff's level of training and experience, yet noted in accompanying commentary they thought the counselors were inexperienced.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>UHS Delaware Valley Hospital does not offer information about its Addiction Treatment Programs’ accommodations and related offerings at the time of this writing aside from noting that dietitians meet with clients to assess, advise, and offer informational sessions regarding nutritional needs. </p> <p>In all, clients can expect a <strong>clinical setting</strong>. Two alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com rated the accommodations and amenities perfect five stars and four out of five stars, and both awarded five stars for meals and nutrition. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing submitted mainly favorable feedback* J.S. wrote: “This facility is amazing,” adding: “I wouldn't have traded my treatment for anything in this world."</p> <p>Alum M.C. awarded perfect five stars for 12-step inclusion, affordability, facility cleanliness and upkeep, and family participation; four out of five stars to likelihood to recommend and staff experience and training; and three stars to connectivity/visitor policy and counseling options. </p> <p>However, M.C. assigned negative ratings to several other metrics, including two stars to treatment of <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a> and holistic offerings. In all, this reviewer wanted Rehabs.com to know about the: “Good food good recreation activities not experienced counselors.
