ABOUT NEW LIFE MANOR (RECAP INC.)

Located in Newburgh, N.Y. and founded in 1965, New Life Manor is operated by Recap, Inc. The nonprofit facility is a halfway house for men who are in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The treatment center specializes in chemical dependency treatment and is one of the 543 (64.5 percent) treatment facilities in the state with programming tailored specifically to adult men.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility's website, the first step of treatment at New Life Manor is an assessment, which is used to determine the clinical criteria of care. Although New Life Manor is designed to support men already in recovery, the facility does support and offer medication-assisted treatment, including Vivitrol, Suboxone, and Naltrexone. In New York, the facility is among the 61.3 percent of facilities to utilize Suboxone.

During treatment, residents learn the benefits of sobriety, how to identify triggers, and develop a treatment plan that works. The treatment center offers medication management, budgeting skills and meal prep training, and fitness-focused runners group. The facility also partners with area outpatient programs to provide additional recovery programming.

Residents are able to explore vocational opportunities, develop healthy leisure activities, and build relationships with their peers. Clients also participate in volunteer work.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The facility's website notes New Life Manor is staffed 24-hours a day. The treatment team includes counselors and residence managers. To date, the single loved one surveyed by Rehabs.com gave two out of five stars for the staff's support.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

New Life Manor's website indicates it is a smoke-free facility and has 24 beds. This suggests a larger level of availability than average, given that the typical number of clients in a residential facility was 18 individuals, as of 2018. The single loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave three out of five stars for accommodations and amenities.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Rehabs.com has yet to receive any reviews from this facility’s former clients, and feedback elsewhere online is similarly scarce. However, five Google users produced a high average rating of 4.2 out of five stars to date.[1] Only S.T. left written comments, noting, "Place saved my life many, many years ago."

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The single loved one, T.P., surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mostly negative feedback, and indicated they wouldn't recommend New Life Manor to friends and family.

T.P. gave one out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, as well as one-star ratings for holistic offerings, exercise and leisure activities, and the level of family participation. "It was a 'Half way house' but the outpatient there was horrendous and so many different directors came and went 4 while i was there," they wrote.

FINANCING

According to New Life Manor's website, the center accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid (which 87.5 percent of centers in the state accept). However, the treatment center doesn't deny services to anyone who isn't able to pay. The lone loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave five stars for its pricing.

[1] GoogleReviews
