Its Long Island City campus, one of 10 in New York, offers <strong>residential treatment for adult men and women</strong>. Detox services are available on site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Clients begin their treatment at Phoenix House with a comprehensive individual assessment. It focuses on the biological, psychological, and social factors to develop a <strong>treatment plan</strong> involving the client’s primary conditions and goals.</p> <p>Phoenix House’s approach is <strong>holistic, evidence-based, and used the disease model of addiction</strong>. By addressing the underlying contributing factors through counseling and education, clients can learn the skills and self-awareness to help prevent relapses in the future. Recreational therapy options include sports such as volleyball and basketball, fitness trails, and martial arts. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, five alumni of Phoenix House provided polled by <strong>mixed feedback</strong> about their experiences. Alumni generally identified holistic offerings as a weakness of the program, but alumni provided mostly positive feedback about the staff’s level of training and experience.
