<p><strong>ABOUT SUNSET TERRACE FAMILY HEALTH CENTER</strong></p> <p>The Sunset Terrace Family Health Center offers <strong>outpatient treatment</strong> for adults, children, and families struggling with mental health disorders, problematic substance use, and/or health issues associated with HIV/AIDS. The center is part of NYU Langone, an academic medical center headquartered in midtown New York. However, Sunset Terrace is located in Sunset Park, south Brooklyn.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>All treatment services are <strong>evidence-based and individualized.</strong> Sunset Terrace Family Health Center offers psychological testing and psychiatric evaluations, for those who wish to assess their own or a loved one's needs. </p> <p>The building blocks of treatment are <strong>individual, group, and family therapy,</strong> which are available with child, adolescent, and geriatric specializations. The center also provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management, for those clients who require medical interventions, as well as case management services. In addition, <strong>the facility emphasizes the treatment of trauma,</strong> with experts on staff to help individuals of any age who have experienced traumatic events of any sort.</p> <p>There's dedicated programming for children and their families, which uses trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with a particular emphasis on <strong>creative arts and other nonverbal therapies</strong> such as drama, music, and movement. Treatment in this department includes a program for youth dealing with a sexual conduct disorder. Other dedicated programming includes <strong>specialized resources for members of the LGBTQ community.</strong></p> <p>In addition to treating individuals on-site, Sunset Terrace can provide referrals to inpatient psychiatric services, community resources, and other sources of support. </p> <p>The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The team consists of physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and addiction counselors.
