ABOUT BRIDGE BACK TO LIFE

Operating five locations throughout New York, N.Y., Bridge Back to Life provides intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and counseling services for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for chemical dependency, as well as co-occurring disorders. If necessary, the facility also offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and ambulatory detox.

In addition, the facility provides specialized program tracks for impaired professionals, the LGBTQ community, and DWI offenders. While specialized program tracks may differ in their focus, all treatment programs utilize evidence-based treatment methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI).

Utilizing these modalities, clients participate in a regular schedule of group and individual therapy sessions to help clients identify and modify destructive thinking and behavior patterns. If appropriate, family therapy may also be encouraged. Family counseling is used as a means of repairing relationships and creating stronger support networks for clients. In addition, clients attend psycho-education classes, which may focus on coping skills, relapse prevention, trigger avoidance, and other topics to help clients maintain sobriety.

Bridge Back to Life also emphasizes 12-Step facilitation as an important aspect of programming. The 12-Step program is used in 48% of treatment programs across the country for its ongoing recovery support practices. Clients may be required to attend 12-Step meetings, study fellowship literature, and perform associated "step-work." The facility also holds anger management classes, gender-specific sessions, women of trauma groups, domestic violence, and other specialized sessions to individualize its treatment.

Bridge Back to Life has a team of medical specialists that can manage clients’ medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The facility uses Suboxone, which is found 25.6% of U.S. treatment facilities.
