<p><strong>ABOUT CRAWFORD HOUSE</strong></p> <p>Located in the community of Skillman, N.J., Daytop Village’s Crawford House is a <strong>residential halfway house for adult women</strong>. Founded in 1978, the CARF-accredited house provides a supportive community, educational programming, and 12-step based treatment to help women reestablish their lives by achieving long-term sobriety.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, women <strong>must be substance-free for two weeks, homeless,</strong> and needy to be eligible for treatment. Referrals are accepted from other treatment programs, and women may self-refer.</p> <p>Once they’ve met the intake requirements, women receive “clinically managed, low intensity, highly individualized” treatment, which is founded in the <strong>12-step model of recovery</strong>. In addition to supportive housing, women are provided with meals and transportation.</p> <p>Along with treatment, women are also taught how to use community support systems to help them achieve a substance-free lifestyle.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Daytop Village staffs a medical director who has more than 25 years of experience in addition treatment.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>According to its webpage, Crawford House provides women with a “clean, comfortable and well-appointed home-like setting.”</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided positive feedback. They both noted they would recommend Crawford House, and they both gave five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness.</p> <p>“If you are serious about your recovery and will go to any lengths to keep it… this is the place,” L.I. wrote. She awarded five stars to accommodations & amenities as well as the 12-step model. A high score of four stars was also awarded for meals & nutrition, cleanliness, family participation, staff experience, and affordability. L.I. gave a lower score of just two stars to exercise and leisure activities, holistic options, the connectivity and visitor policy, and the counseling options offered. When surveyed on facility weaknesses, she cited "Minimal exercise."</p> <p>The other alum, K.C., made the personal choice to enter rehab and chose this facility based on a medical referral. Like L.I., she was pleased with her overall experience, writing: “I will be forever grateful for crawford house, it gave me the oppurunity to build a foundation in my recovery." She awarded staff support, counselor training and experience, and counselor respect for patient’s treatment preferences all five out of five stars.</p> <p>Feedback on the facility elsewhere online is relatively scarce.
