<p><strong>ABOUT KENNEDY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES</strong></p> <p>Kennedy Health operates three hospitals in New Jersey, and is the primary teaching affiliate for the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. The Cherry Hill location, located nine miles east of central Philadelphia, in west New Jersey, is <strong>a full-service hospital</strong> that includes a behavioral health department, which offers one of the only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NJ17.pdf" target="_blank">12 (3.5 percent)</a> <strong>hospital inpatient</strong> facilities in the state. <strong>Outpatient services</strong> are also available for a wide range of mental and behavioral health disorders, including problematic substance use and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">dual diagnosis</a>. Note: one reviewer on CiteHealth indicated that the hospital did not in fact provide detox services. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>A <strong>24-hour crisis center</strong> located on the Cherry Hill campus provides evaluations, stabilization services, close observation in a secure setting, and appropriate referrals to further treatment. For individuals requiring inpatient treatment, there are two levels of care: short-term and longer-term. All clients stay on the same inpatient unit, on the Cherry Hill campus.</p> <p>In outpatient care, the center offers <strong>a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP),</strong> which include psychoeducational and psychodynamic groups. The PHP runs all day, while the IOP is offered in the daytime or the evening and lasts three and a half hours a day. On the dual diagnosis IOP and PHP, there's dedicated programming on relapse prevention.</p> <p>Children and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">adolescents</a> participating in PHPs and IOPs must still meet their educational requirements.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The behavioral health department partners with the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine's Department of Psychiatry. Programming is led by <strong>board-certified psychiatrists,</strong> and the team includes nurses; master's level clinicians; social workers; and dance, music, and art therapists. "I am a family member and staff was very nice and accomodating," H.W. wrote, giving the facility five stars for its family participation and four stars for its treatment effectiveness, counseling options, and treatment for co-occurring disorders.
