<p><strong>ABOUT HOPE ON HAVEN HILL</strong></p> <p>Located in Rochester, N.H., Hope on Haven Hill provides one of the state's only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NY17.pdf" target="_blank">143 (17 percent)</a> specialized, <strong>residential treatment for pregnant women, newly postpartum women with babies (up to age one), and mothers with children up to the age of five</strong> struggling with chemical dependency. It is also amongst the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NY17.pdf" target="_blank">514 (61 percent)</a> New Hampshire facilities with a specialized track for individuals dealing with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. To be admitted into the program, women must be homeless or facing imminent homelessness. The facility does not provide on-site detoxification services.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon intake into the residential program, women may participate in a <strong>substance abuse history, physical, and psychiatric assessment</strong> to ensure the residential program is an appropriate level of care. According to the facility's website, a majority of applicants may spend time on a waiting list until a bed is available. However, Hope on Haven Hill provides outpatient-based counseling, case management, and recovery support for women on the waiting list.</p> <p>Hope on Haven Hill's residential program is trauma-informed and<br /> focuses on both treating substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, as well as improving life and parenting skills. During residential treatment, women participate in <strong>group and individual therapy sessions</strong> that may address the disease of addiction, techniques to sustain sobriety, and how to improve coping skills. The facility also holds <strong>workshops on improving life skills, assertiveness, and self-esteem</strong>. </p> <p>Along with traditional programming, Hope on Haven Hill offers a range of holistic treatments to reduce stress, facilitate self-expression, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Residents participate in <strong>SATYA yoga sessions</strong>, acupuncture, and art therapy. If applicable, the facility also provides <strong>High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) preparation classes</strong>.</p> <p>To assist women prepare for motherhood or develop new parenting skills, while improving their health, Hope on Haven Hill offers a <strong>range of parenting and wellness classes</strong>. Along with nutritional counseling and smoking cessation classes,, the facility holds <strong>workshops on breastfeeding, childbirth education, and nurturing parenting</strong>. Upon discharge from the facility, clinicians offers case management and <strong>discharge planning</strong>, which may include referrals to sober housing, <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">extended-care programs</a>, educational opportunities, job training, and other supportive, community-based resources. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Led by a clinical and executive director, Hope on Haven Hill's staff may include licensed substance abuse and mental health counselors, case managers, and professionals experienced in early childhood development. The facility is also supported by a team of volunteers. The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date provided a four-star rating for the center staff's level of experience and training.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>While information is limited concerning the living arrangements and amenities of the facility, the facility's website describes the residence as a having a <strong>home-life environment</strong> that is "nurturing and therapeutic." Childcare may also be provided to children during treatment sessions. Out of five stars, the sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave a three-star rating for the facility's overall cleanliness and upkeep. The survey respondent did cite the facility's "location in an undesirable area" as a weakness of the facility.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered generally positive opinions concerning most aspects of the facility. The anonymous alum gave four-star ratings for the level of family participation in treatment, the facility's ability to treat co-occurring disorders, and the staff's level of experience and training. "The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly," the alum wrote. Though this former client provided a more moderate three-star rating for the facility's counseling options, she awarded a perfect five-star rating for its discharge planning. </p> <p>Secondary sources revealed an overwhelmingly positive consensus of the facility. On the its Facebook page, which the facility can manage, <strong>66 individuals provided the facility a near- perfect average rating of 4.9 out of five stars</strong><small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>. Reviewers tended to cite the facility's staff and comfortable environment as facility strengths. "I love this house, the staff, their mission, and the women they are guiding!!!" Elizabeth, a representative reviewer, wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Though Rehabs.com has yet to receive feedback from facility employees to date, one Glassdoor reviewer provided a one-star rating.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> This former employee remarked upon recent administration changes, noting that the transition has caused more harm than good for the center's clients.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on the facility's website regarding its costs.
