Job postings on the center’s website indicate that experience working with diverse clients is a priority. In addition to a master's degree in therapy or social work, one counselor description noted staff members "must have a great sense of humor!" The facility also employs licensed professional nurses, certified recovery support workers, and licensed alcohol and drug counselors. Staff in recovery must have two years of sobriety to be hired.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

In 2012, the organization purchased a 26,000-square-foot, two-story commercial building, which now serves as headquarters for Keystone Hall and enabled it to expand its residential capacity and programming. The facility is located along a public bus line, less than five miles from the center of Nashua, and three miles from the Everett Turnpike/Route 3. The building is open year round, 24/7.

There currently is no further information provided on the facility's website regarding its living arrangements and related offerings, however, a total of six individuals polled by Rehabs.com on the matter approved of the facility's upkeep.

Cleanliness and Upkeep: 4/5

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, six alumni polled by Rehabs.com about Keystone Hall submitted highly favorable feedback, as reflected in the perfect five-star rating they all gave to the effectiveness of treatment they received. The four and five former clients who responded to a series of evaluated metrics offered more detailed impressions, praising the facility's counseling options and staff experience while reported a high likeliness to recommend the facility to others.

Likelihood to Recommend: 5/5
Staff Experience and Training: 4.2/5
Counseling Options: 3.6/5

These former clients praised the staff and the combination of individual and group therapy sessions, expressed in a brief representative review as: “Recovery, good staff, clean. Changed my life.” Several appreciated the caring and support, such as one alum who added: “It allowed me the stability I needed to transition back into society and become a productive sober member of society.”

However, several noted the long wait time to be admitted for residential rehabilitation, which prompted one alum to write: “Takes to long to get in it. If someone decided to enter to the program, stay, they have a waiting list.” In addition to holistic offerings, others identified a need for improvements in the facility’s flexibility, range of offerings, and treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Holistic Offerings: 2.6/5

On secondary sites, Keystone Hall also received favorable coverage to date: 3.4 out of five stars based on five reviews on Google; and 4.3 stars based on 19 reviews on Facebook, which the organization can manage. [1] [2] Opinions clustered around the top five stars and lowest one star, although five-star ratings predominated.

Reviewers appreciated the kind staff and reported life-changing and life-saving experiences, such as P.C. on Facebook: “This place saved my life. You get out of this program what you put into it. On the small budget they have here they make sure everyone has a nice bed to sleep in, good food to eat and the staff is understanding as most of them have been through it themselves.” Conversely, negative reviewers criticized the lack of communication and coping skills training, perceived unjust staff behavior, and parking fees.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

At the time of this writing, two loved ones who submitted their impressions of Keystone Hall to Rehabs.com offered conflicting views, split between a five-star review and another of mainly two stars for a series of evaluated metrics. Although the satisfied loved on awarded perfect five stars to most metrics with a sprinkling of four and three stars, the reviewer rated holistic offerings two stars, which aligned with opinions of alumni who reviewed the facility for Rehabs.com. However, the loved one appreciated the ongoing support and caring counselors, who gave her mother “the best treatment.”

The other loved one, however, described the facility as understaffed and needing more individualized treatment plans and state-of-the-art exercise equipment. This critical reviewer reported high staff turnover and described staff as "not knowledgeable about Co occurring disorders."

WHAT STAFF SAY

The one staff member surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, D.H., described the program as “evidenced based treatment” and staff support as the “best.” They highlighted the “client respect and diversity” at the facility and indicated no concerns about the level of care. D.H. concurred with alumni comments about limited space and the need expressed by a loved one for more exercise opportunities. However, this staff member would recommend Keystone Hall to others and rated both the staff’s training and experience as well as their interest in patients the top five stars.

FINANCING

According to the facility’s website, no one is denied services based on an inability to pay at Keystone Hall. Most private insurance is accepted, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna, and services are offered on a sliding fee scale.
