<p><strong>ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN TREATMENT CENTER</strong></p> <p>Founded in 2001, Spring Mountain Treatment Center offers a wide variety of <strong>substance abuse and mental health treatment</strong> options for children and adults in the Las Vegas area. Both <strong>residential and outpatient</strong> programs are offered, as well as one of Nevada's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NV17.pdf" target="_blank">18 (23.4 percent)</a> specialized tracks for <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">adolescents,</a> military members, seniors, and clients with co-occurring disorders. Detox services are offered on-site as part of the <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">dual diagnosis treatment</a> program, making this one of just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NV17.pdf" target="_blank">eight (10.4 percent)</a> facilities in the state with detox services available on site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The facility offers three residential programs -- the <strong>Children’s Acute Inpatient program</strong> (for children ages five to 11), the <strong>Adolescent Inpatient Program</strong> (for teens 12 to 17), and the <strong>Adult Inpatient Program.</strong> The overall goal of all three treatment programs is to help clients develop the safe coping skills they need to manage their symptoms and learn appropriate, socially acceptable behaviors to facilitate a successful reintegration in the community.</p> <p>Individualized treatment plans are created for all clients and are designed to address the therapeutic, academic, medical/physical, recreational, social, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of the individual. <strong>Medication needs are assessed and monitored by an attending psychiatrist.</strong> Both adolescents and adults receive <strong>individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help" target="_blank">family therapy</a></strong>, as well as case management, 24-hour nursing care, and education about addiction.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, the treatment team includes a <strong>full medical staff</strong> of psychiatrists, nurses and, social workers. The three alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing mentioned complaints about the treatment team; one gave the facility just one out of five stars for its staff’s training and experience, while the others noted that the “docter did not meet with me regularly” and there was "High staff turnover."</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p><strong>The 110-bed facility</strong> is set amid scenic getaways in the mountains, canyons, and valleys that surround Las Vegas, and offers a high volume of availability as the average number of clients at a residential facility is <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/2016_NSSATS.pdf" target="_blank">18 individuals.</a> According to the website, the facility is close to spectacular sightseeing and a wide range of recreational activities including hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, camping, and whitewater rafting.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The three former clients surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing had <strong>mixed feedback</strong> for Spring Mountain Treatment Center. As previously mentioned, most <strong>negative feedback was centered around the staff</strong> -- one of the anonymous reviewers gave the facility just two out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience. They also gave <strong>mostly two and three out of five stars across 14 other evaluated metrics</strong>, including its treatment effectiveness, its exercise, holistic, and leisure offerings, its counseling offerings, and its treatment of co-occurring disorders.</p> <p>Another alum awarded the facility five out of five stars for its staff support, its cleanliness, and its leisure activities, but also remarked to Rehabs.com that they did not feel that they received adequate medical care while at the facility.</p> <p>Similarly, the anonymous alum who gave staff just one star also provided one-star ratings for holistic offerings, treatment of co-occurring disorders, and counseling options.
