ABOUT LAS VEGAS RECOVERY CENTER

Located near the Red Rock Mountains in southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC) provides a full continuum of care for those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. It is also one of the 48 (60 percent) facilities in the state to offer care for individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders and chronic pain. Services include inpatient rehabilitation, a long-term residential program, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP).

In addition, this is one of the state's only seven (8.8 percent) non-hospital treatment facilities offering medically-monitored detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

LVRC's inpatient rehabilitation program follows a simple, “back to basics” model of addiction treatment that focuses on 12-Step principles, a commitment to abstinence, group therapy, and weekly individual therapy sessions. The facility also utilizes methadone or Subutex to minimize the discomfort of opioid withdrawal.

In addition to evidence-based approached, the program emphasizes holistic treatment options, such as acupuncture, yoga, massages, meditation, “Chi Kung” (a Chinese energy exercise), chiropractic therapy, nutrition education, and more. Inpatient treatment generally lasts from 30 to 90 days, during which two loved ones can participate in the Family Renewal Program.

Each client's individual recovery plan facilitates a smooth transition after discharge and includes follow-up treatment/aftercare, a referral to the LVRC alumni group, and often referrals to the rehab's other levels of care.

Clients in LVRC's PHP attend seven days a week of programming from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those who do not need acute medical care, yet seek to receive the same services offered in the inpatient program, may participate in the long-term residential program, where clients stay an average of four months.

The Rehmar Recovery Residences are gender-specific and offer supportive living that includes regular monitoring, supervision and on-site support services. IOP clients receive nine or more hours of treatment per week of group or individual sessions that reinforce 12-Step principles.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

LVRC’s staffs a large team of certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADCs), registered and licensed practical nurses, psychologists, and holistic instructors. In Nevada, 97.5 percent of substance abuse treatment centers have higher education requirements for staff. Of the 16 individuals polled by Rehabs.com to date, the seven individuals polled on the matter praised the facility's staff.

Staff's Level of Experience and Training: 4.1/5

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Clients in the inpatient residential program's Rehmar Recovery Residences stay in private or semi-private rooms, with no more than eight clients per housing unit. This individualized care is a unique feature to the facility, as the average number of individuals in a residential treatment program at a given time was 32 clients, as of 2016.

Amenities include Wi-Fi, cable and flat-panel TVs, full kitchens, laundry and cleaning products, and linens. Residents receive transportation to outpatient and day treatment programs, must attend five 12-Step meetings per week, and adhere to a 10 p.m. daily curfew. Individuals polled on the matter highlighted the accommodations as a strength.

Facility's Cleanliness and Upkeep: 4.9/5

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The nine alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date offered mixed reviews and disparate details of their experiences. An anonymous alum felt likewise, adding: "Even though the facade looks good it has not been maintained very well. Dirty uncomfortable furniture."

On Google, where 17 users have produced an average rating of 3.4 out of five stars to date, treatment effectiveness was praised but the high costs were repeatedly criticized.[1] One pleased reviewer, T.M., wrote: "The most professional environment I have been in a while.
