<p><strong>ABOUT LAKELAND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM</strong></p> <p>Located in Springfield, Mo. and serving the surrounding community for more than 100 years, Lakeland Behavioral Health System (LBHS) offers <strong>residential and inpatient (IP) treatment to children, adolescent, and senior clients.</strong> Dual diagnosis treatment is available.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Care for children and adolescents is divided into acute inpatient care and residential care. Inpatient care is further split by gender and age. In inpatient care, a multidisciplinary team helps clients develop individualized treatment plans that include <strong>parental involvement, evidence-based treatment modalities, and group work</strong> addressing various topics such as alcohol abuse, family issues, and sexual and physical abuse. Modalities include <strong>medication management, individual and family therapies,</strong> and recreational therapy among many others. </p> <p>Residential care for adolescents is divided by age and gender: boys nine to 14 years old, girls nine to 20, and males 15 to 20. Services vary by each group, but all of them offer <strong>scheduled treatment including therapy and life skills development.</strong> A special program for boys addresses sexual maladaptive behaviors in boys. The program also includes the <strong>Lakeland Regional School Program</strong> so clients may continue their schooling during treatment.</p> <p>The HOPE inpatient program treats senior clients aged 60 and over. Clients develop an <strong>individualized treatment plan</strong> with a multidisciplinary team involving several modalities: <strong>individual, group, and family therapy; coping and life skills training; medication management and education; and discharge planning.</strong> Loved ones may visit clients for up to one hour during visitation hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Staff is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of medical physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, clinical dietitian, recreational specialists, therapists, educators and social workers. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Holistic therapy options include therapeutic exercise; stress reduction; and art, music, and expressive therapies. All three reviewers polled by Rehabs.com to date rated LBHS's accommodations and amenities three out of five stars and its meals and nutrition four stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>One alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave LBHS mixed ratings in various categories. They rated the program's treatment effectiveness three out of five stars and its cleanliness and visitor policy four stars but its holistic treatment offerings, level of support from staff, and exercise and leisure offerings only one star. Nonetheless, the client wrote positive comments: "Almost 10 years later and I still think about the things I learned there."</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>Two loved ones polled by Rehabs.com to date rated LBHS <strong>mostly positive reviews across a variety of metrics.</strong> They rated the facility four and 4.5 out of five stars for its cleanliness, affordability, and staff's level of experience and training. The facility received its lowest ratings for its holistic treatment offerings, with a one-star and a two-star rating.</p> <p>However, in comments the two loved ones differed on their opinions of treatment. While one loved one described the treatment as "invaluable," the other complained of a psychiatrist's poor treatment of their son.</p> <p>On Google, 51 reviewers to date (mostly parents) gave LBHS <strong>an average 2.4 out of five stars,</strong> with 15 positive reviews, five mixed, and 21 negative.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Reviewers were <strong>split on the quality of staff's treatment.</strong> Positive reviewers <strong>praised the program's treatment structure,</strong> but most reviewers complained about <strong>poor accommodations and uncommunicative staff.</strong> In a neutral review, alum Cheyenne wrote: "Good staff really helped. However, they rated it only two stars fro its affordability and salary given to staff.
