<p><strong>ABOUT CMHC REGION 3 - LIFECORE HEALTH GROUP</strong></p> <p>LIFECORE is one of six outpatient clinics and a residential unit in Tupelo, Miss., as a partner of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, which operated across 15 regions. The Region 3 facility provides <strong>addiction and behavioral health disorder services</strong>, offering programs including DUI assessments, intensive outpatient treatment, and <strong>primary and transitional residential rehabilitation to adults, adolescents, and children</strong> in Benton, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc and Union. The center also treats co-occurring mental health disorders. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The approach at LIFECORE is holistic and begins with a process of early intervention followed by an individualized treatment plan. The level of treatment is intended to address each client’s diagnosis and personal circumstances.Treatment includes individual, group, and family counseling. LIFECORE also offers vocational counseling and recreational therapy. <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">Dual diagnosis treatment</a> for clients living with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders is available, as well as family services.</p> <p>Holistic care for physical and behavioral health is meant for individuals with behavioral health disorder, have a developmental disability, or suffer from a chemical dependency. Peer support is available as a part of the community-based program offerings.The state website indicates that a typical intensive <strong>outpatient program lasts 10 weeks</strong>. According to the Mississippi department of mental health website, most regional centers provide withdrawal management support as a part of residential treatment. Outpatient clinics for additional treatment are also located in six counties.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the LIFECORE website, the treatment team consists of 250 professional employees, including master’s level therapists and social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists and family practice physicians. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The Mississippi Region 3 is a 40-client residential facility, which provides 24/7 access to care. Residents are offered room shares in <strong>air-conditioned bedrooms</strong> with simple furnishings. The facility has a community cafeteria and large community spaces for socialization. Lounges have with comfortable seating and residents have access to cable TV. Residents also have leisure activities available like volleyball, basketball, movie nights and arts and crafts. Families can also visit on weekends.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alums who submitted reviews Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave largely positive rating. They both noted that they would recommend this facility to others. Survey data from the alum with ratings of four or five stars across 15 metrics including the effectiveness of treatment, family participation, and staff.</p> <p>Both clients praised the accommodations, meals, nutrition, and the cleanliness and upkeep of the building. They also offered different perspectives on counseling. While each rated the level of staff training and experience highly, one rated the lead counselor just two stars and identified inconsistency in group sessions. However, they presented mixed views about the availability of exercise and leisure activities. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com was critical of the facility. She had mixed feelings about the accommodations, but gave higher ratings for meals and cleanliness and <strong>lower ones for exercise and leisure</strong>, in agreement with one of the alumni. She rated the availability of counseling options just two stars, but identified the counseling overall as a strength but noted a need for “more follow (up).” </p> <p>She gave an average rating for family participation, giving it three stars, writing that visitation policies or procedures were a weakness.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>As a member of the <a href="https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/" target="_blank">National Health Service Corps</a>, LIFECORE accepts Medicaid, Medicare, as do <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MS16.pdf" target="_blank">102 facilities across the state of Mississippi</a>. It also takes the Children’s Health Insurance Plan, and provides fee discounts to clients who qualify.</p>
