<p><strong>ABOUT MN ADULT & TEEN CHALLENGE – MINNEAPOLIS</strong></p> <p>Mn Adult &amp; Teen Challenge (MnTC) is a network of treatment centers for older teens (aged 16 and above) and adults struggling with addiction. The agency offers <strong>four residential programs — short and long-term for men and women — as well as outpatient programming</strong> in Minneapolis. Short-term programs have optional faith-based tracks available, while long-term programs all <strong>integrate Christian faith-based</strong> and evidence-based practices. However, clients of any faith are welcome.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Individual short-term treatment plans at Mn Adult &amp; Teen Challenge run between <strong>14 and 90 days</strong>. (No detox services are provided.) The long-term program is for 12 to 13 months. Outpatient treatment follows an 18-week program. <strong>Short-term and outpatient programs are state-licensed (Rule 245).</strong> </p> <p>Each program builds on client strengths and healthy relationships, providing <strong>individual and group therapy</strong> as well as family educational sessions. Residents can expect to participate in <a href="https://americanaddictioncenters.org/therapy-treatment/experiential" target="_blank">experiential and recreational therapies</a>, <strong>life skills development, and some 12-step concepts</strong>. The short-term and outpatient programs also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). For those who choose, <strong>pastoral counseling is also available</strong>.</p> <p><strong>The longer, faith-based program</strong> prioritizes spiritual development and preparation for transition. A typical day includes process groups and some form of <a href="https://www.teenchallengeusa.com/about/discipleship/gsnc" target="_blank">Christian education</a>. The final stage helps clients with plans for <strong>vocational and educational development</strong>, building a support system, and relapse prevention. Some plans include work-study and daily chapel attendance. A <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">dual diagnosis</a> and an <strong>optional opiate support groups</strong> are provided.</p> <p>MnTc also accepts clients in transition from the criminal justice system. Just 29 percent (104 of 356) of Minnesota's treatment facilities provide <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MN17.pdf" target="_blank">long-term, non-hospital residential care</a>. It is also among the 20.8 percent of facilities to provide specialized <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MN17.pdf" target="_blank">programming for adolescents</a>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Treatment team members at Mn Adult &amp; Teen Challenge in Minneapolis include psychologists and licensed alcohol and drug counselors (LADC). The facilities contract with providers for some services, including DBT.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The four residential locations for MnTC in Minneapolis are the short-term women/teen residence on 2nd Avenue, with a <a href="https://licensinglookup.dhs.state.mn.us/Details.aspx?l=1009049" target="_blank">capacity of 45</a>, according to state licensing data; the long-term women’s Grace Manor on Lowry, long-term men’s Portland House; and short-term men/teen residence for <a href="https://licensinglookup.dhs.state.mn.us/Details.aspx?l=1005657" target="_blank">up to 84</a> on 1st Ave. Residents can expect to participate in assigned chores.</p> <p><strong>Each residence provides up-to-date gym equipment on-site</strong>, with workout time in the daily schedule. MnTC campuses are tobacco-free, but clients may use the patch while in treatment and attend an optional smoking cessation group. Long-term residence are expected to participate in a choir program, which performs locally.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Alumni feedback for Mn Adult &amp; Teen Challenge in Minneapolis is mixed.
