Intensive <a href="https://www.recovery.org/co-occurring-disorders/recovery/" target="_blank">dual diagnosis treatment</a> <strong>programming for adolescents is a core emphasis</strong>, while the agency also offers an array of services addressing mental health and substance use disorders for families and individuals of all ages. </p> <p>Of Minnesota’s 356 substance abuse treatment facilities in 2017, just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MN17.pdf" target="_blank">20.8 percent (74)</a> provided services specifically tailored for adolescents. In addition, only 12.6 percent offered a full-day or partial hospitalization program (PHP), as Options does.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, Options Family & Behavior Services offers in-clinic and in-home therapy. The agency’s <strong>day treatment program for adolescents</strong> runs for a minimum of eight weeks. Programming — for this and other Options services — includes a strong <strong>emphasis on involving family members and/or close friends</strong>. </p> <p><a href="https://www.apa.org/ptsd-guideline/patients-and-families/cognitive-behavioral" target="_blank">Cognitive behavioral therapy</a> (CBT) is the facility’s foundational treatment modality, combined with life skills training, gender-specific group counseling, and (for teenagers), 2.5 hours of <strong>transferable schoolwork and tutoring</strong> each day.</p> <p>The Options parenting skills program meets twice a week for nine total sessions, and the agency's staff has <strong>experience working with alternative family units</strong>. Couples counseling is also available, a service provided at <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MN17.pdf" target="_blank">53.7 percent</a> of Minnesota facilities.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Options Family & Behavior Services in Burnsville and Roseville employs master’s-level therapists, social workers, and licensed alcohol and drug counselors (LADC).</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole individual polled by Rehabs.com to date, an alum of Options Family & Behavior Services, awarded four and five out of five stars for most metrics measured, including their likelihood to recommend the program to others.
