<p><strong>ABOUT SPECTRUM HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC.</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1969, Spectrum Health Systems is a private, nonprofit that operates multiple treatment centers in Massachusetts for people struggling with addiction and/or substance abuse.Its facilities offer a range of services including detox, residential care, and outpatient programs. <strong>This review focuses on the facility located in Worcester that provides outpatient programming for mental health and substance abuse.</strong> All 13 of Spectrum's facilities offer some form of outpatient treatment, placing them among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MA16.pdf" target="_blank">226 (about 64 percent) of Massachusetts facilities to offer outpatient treatment to clients</a>. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to Spectrum Health Systems' website, it offers outpatient services to adults and teens who are having problems with mental health disorders or substance abuse. When clients enter the programs, they take an initial evaluation to determine an <strong>appropriate level of care and an individualized treatment plan.</strong> </p> <p>The treatment center offers <strong>individual, group, and family substance abuse counseling</strong>. In addition to treating the client, the treatment team works with families to teach them about addiction. </p> <p><strong>The family education forum teaches loved ones about medication-assisted treatment, signs of an overdose,</strong> how to respond to an overdose, and where to buy naloxone. The forum is also designed to provide support to loved ones. </p> <p>Programming includes <strong>12-step education, medication-assisted treatment, intimate partner abuse education</strong>, driver alcohol education groups, clinical assessments, treatment planning, and counseling. </p> <p>Intensive outpatient programing includes two group sessions and an individual sessions each day. Family groups are also available on a weekly basis. Clients stay in the intensive program for at least three weeks. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to its website, Spectrum Health Systems' "highly experienced professional staff offer a full array of services at this location and treat more than 1,500 individuals each day." The treatment team includes counselors, social workers, and nurses. </p> <p>The alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave two out of five stars for the staff's level of training and experience. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Spectrum Health Systems' website notes the outpatient treatment center is located in a four-story professional building, which is Spectrum's largest outpatient treatment center. To date, the alum surveyed by Rehabs.com gave three out of five stars for accommodations and amenities. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided a mostly negative review. They gave just two out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, and indicated they wouldn't recommend the center. The alum also gave two stars for holistic offerings and counseling options. "The food was great. The "recovery" was awful. The staff was mean, uncaring," the alum wrote. </p> <p>The three people who left reviews on its Facebook Page, which they have the ability to manage, gave five-, four-, and one- out of five stars. But reviews are for all facilities. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small></p> <p>To date, <strong>the four people who left Google Reviews for the Worcester location provided an average of four out of five stars.</strong> All of the commentary was positive, and reviewers commented about the great staff and program. "Great Recovery has helped me so much in my journey to Recovery," an alum wrote in a representative review. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small></p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its cost of treatment.
