Individuals in need of medication may receive Suboxone and Vivitrol to make the withdrawal process more tolerable and help curb cravings.

The center in Woburn offers three levels of outpatient care: partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and structured outpatient care. In the PHP, adults with anxiety, trauma, or a dual diagnosis attend daily group therapy, participate in weekly psychiatric assessments, and receive referrals for aftercare.

To be eligible for traditional and IOP care, clients must have a primary substance use disorder diagnosis and have symptoms that cause disruption in their ability to carry out major responsibilities. Treatment begins with a biopsychosocial evaluation and behavioral assessment to form an individualized recovery plan. In group therapy, clients have opportunity to connect with others experiencing similar challenges over a range of topics including early recovery, self-esteem and self-management, relapse prevention, and life skills. Clients also receive 30 minutes of case management each week.

Traditional outpatient and IOP sessions are held twice daily, Monday through Friday: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Clients attend treatment three days a week.

Arbour Counseling Services runs a school-based outreach program, which includes psychiatric treatment services for children and teens with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADD/ADHD, and other learning disabilities.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Clients have access to a physician who specializes in addictions and nurse practitioners, while case management and counseling services are facilitated by a team of licensed substance abuse counselors and clinical social workers.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, more than a dozen reviewers across secondary sources had mixed feedback.

On Google reviews and Yelp, the center in Woburn had average ratings of 2.9 and two out of five stars, respectively, based on 10 Google reviews and four Yelp reviews. They were disappointed concerning the time it took the facility to call them back for an intake appointment, but found therapists very effective in addressing anxiety. "Once you can finally get an appointment, they are wonderful. Great therepists," the loved one wrote. However, they left two stars out of five for the staff’s level of training and experience, availability, and professionalism, yet five stars for the facility's aftercare planning.

FINANCING

Arbour Counseling Services at Woburn accepts self-payment and Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Behavioral Health, Cenpatico, Medicare and Medicaid, and many other insurance plans.

[1] https://goo.gl/bGKzUD
[2] https://www.yelp.com/biz/arbour-counseling-services-woburn-woburn-2
