Located in the community of Framingham, Mass., 23 miles west of Boston, the residential program also treats pregnant and post-partum women.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>To guide clinicians in forming an individualized plan of care, clients participate in an initial assessment upon admission to identify specific needs. To help clients acquire and maintain sobriety, the facility blends <strong>evidence-based treatment methods</strong> with 12-step immersion and vocational training in the supportive setting of a <strong>gender-specific, therapeutic community</strong>. </p> <p>During residential treatment, clients adhere to a <strong>structured schedule of group educational classes</strong> that address issues common among women with a history of chemical dependency, such as problems related to self-esteem, trauma, and abuse. While residing in the home, clinicians facilitate <strong>vocational training opportunities</strong> and assist with job searches. In addition, Serenity House provides assistance with located stable housing, advocacy, and referrals to community-based resources. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Serenity House is staffed by a team of chemical dependency counselors, childcare specialists, house supervisors, case managers, and volunteers.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, Serenity House is located in a "serene, residential setting" near recreational areas and public transportation. The facility <strong>can accommodate up to 35 women</strong> and reserves <strong>four spots or pregnant and post-partum women</strong>. The facility provides transportation to handle medical, dental, mental health, and legal issues. Childcare is available for mothers during treatment sessions. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing had mixed opinions of the facility. Out of five stars, the alum offered four-star ratings for the facility's cleanliness and the amount of family participation in treatment. However, they gave a lower two-star rating for the treatment staff's level of experience and training. "I believe that the program is a little over the top," the alum wrote, suggesting the facility was overly strict.
