<p><strong>ABOUT JOURNEY HOUSE</strong></p> <p>Operating four sober living facilities in the southeastern Mass. communities of Taunton, Bridgewater and Middleboro, Journey House provides <strong>transitional, supportive housing for adults actively recovering from chemical dependency</strong>. As a sober living facility, designed for individuals already in recovery, Journey House does not provide on-site detoxification services.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Before admission, prospective residents may participate in an initial evaluation and interview to ensure the sober living community is an appropriate level of care. To be admitted, residents must've <strong>recently completed a residential treatment program</strong>, and/or be enrolled in an outpatient-based treatment program, or recently released from incarceration. Journey House <strong>does not set any time restrictions</strong> regarding the length of client residency.</p> <p>Journey House's primary function is to provide a safe, <strong>supportive and monitored environment</strong> to assist individuals in early recovery. However, Journey House does organize and facilitate supportive treatment services. In particular, Journey House ensures that residents stay active in the <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-evolution-of-anonymity-in-12-step-fellowships-does-it-still-serve-a-purpose/" target="_blank">local 12-step community</a>. Residents are required to <strong>attend three 12-step meetings per week</strong>, obtain a sponsor, and perform "step-work" while living in the facility.</p> <p>Journey House also holds weekly peer-led workshops. These group counseling sessions focus on <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/finding-your-own-voice-in-recovery/" target="_blank">individual growth and development</a> during early recovery. In addition, clients are required to attend <strong>mandatory house meetings</strong> and are subject to three drug tests per week.</p> <p>Along with its fundamental services, Journey House also provides <strong>referrals and linkages to community-based resources</strong>, such as vocational training, outpatient treatment programs, volunteer opportunities, or educational classes. One stipulation for residing in Journey House, clients <strong>must remain productive during their stay</strong>, either through employment, volunteering, pursuing education, or enrolled in a day treatment program.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Journey House employs house managers, who are peer specialist experienced in the process of recovery. These individuals help facilitate meetings and supervise the residences.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Journey House is comprised of four sober living facilities. Each transitional home features a comfortable, home-like environment with well-furnished communal areas, and residents have the <strong>option between a shared bedroom or private bedroom</strong>. The houses are located in quiet residential neighborhoods, and residents have access to <strong>TVs with cable and Wi-Fi</strong>. Residents are responsible for completing daily chores and the general cleanliness of the homes.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, B.F., was overall critical of the facility, particularly the cleanliness of the facility and the facility's cost. Out of five stars, B.F. gave a one-star rating for this aspect of treatment, as well as a one-star rating for the expense of the sober living organization. "The facility was very dirty. The furniture was broken. And it was expensive!," B.F. wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>The cost of Journey House is determined by the individual's accommodations. Shared rooms are $570 per month or $150 per week, while single standard rooms are $645 per month or $165 peer week. The facilities are private pay only.</p>
