<p><strong>ABOUT FREDERICK RESCUE MISSION - CHANGED LIFE RECOVERY PROGRAM</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1964, the Frederick Rescue Mission is a non-profit program located in Frederick, Md. The center's Changed Life Recovery Program, which is a <strong>faith-based, long-term residential program for men</strong> who are struggling with substance abuse and/or homelessness, is one of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MD16.pdf" target="_blank">72 residential facilities in Maryland.</a> </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, men participating in the <strong>year-long program</strong> attempt to achieve a relationship with Christ to treat substance abuse. </p> <p>A typical day in treatment starts with quiet time, Bible study, and a <strong>faith-based recovery curriculum.</strong> In the afternoon, residents participate in work therapy. During the evening, programming may include a range of recovery and spiritual elements, such as chapel, <strong>Celebrate Recovery meetings</strong>, Bible classes, as well as relaxation and recreation activities. </p> <p>Men in treatment have <strong>opportunities to obtain a GED</strong>, develop career aspirations, gain life skills such as computer instruction and management, and apply for a driver's license. </p> <p>While men are in the program, they are subject to random drug tests, and the treatment center has a zero tolerance for drug use. </p> <p>Men are required to participate in <strong>work therapy</strong> and help the mission provide to the community.
