Located in the community of Earleville, Md., in the Chesapeake Bay Area, Bracebridge Hall provides an <strong>upscale residential program for adults</strong> struggling with chemical dependency, as well as individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders. If necessary, <strong>medical detoxification is available</strong> on-site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon admission, clients participate in an initial biopsychosocial assessment to help clinicians form a <strong>highly individualized treatment program</strong>. If necessary, the resident may undergo detoxification to alleviate the discomfort of withdrawal and help ensure the safety of the resident. To treats its residents, Bracebridge Hall's treatment curriculum blends <strong>evidence-based treatments, 12-step participation, and holistic treatment approaches</strong>. </p> <p>Bracebridge Hall's programming is largely founded in the <strong>principles and practices of 12-Step</strong>. During residential treatment, clients are fully immersed into the peer-led fellowship. Clients attend on--site meetings, study fellowship literature (Big Book), perform associated βstep-work,β and attend <strong>workshops that help guide residents through the 12-step process</strong>. According to the facility's website, the spiritual principles of 12-Step are incorporated into other aspects of programming.</p> <p>Along with an introduction to and participation in 12-Step, core programming includes a schedule of <strong>one-on-one therapy sessions</strong>, group counseling, and educational classes concerning improving coping skills, relapse prevention, and <strong>developing communication skills</strong>. Loved ones are also invited to participate in <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/family-addiction-transformation-and-healing-are-possible/" target="_blank">family and/or couples counseling sessions</a>. In addition, dually diagnosed clientele receive ongoing psychiatric evaluations and medication management. </p> <p>In addition to its evidence-based treatment, Bracebridge Hall incorporates a number of <strong>holistic treatments</strong> into programming. During the residential program, clients participate in mindful meditation, <strong>creative arts therapy</strong>, psychodrama, adventure and experiential therapies, and spiritual counseling sessions. The facility also conducts a <strong>nutritional assessment</strong> to help clients formulate a diet and exercise plan. </p> <p>In between treatment sessions, clients receive free time for <strong>recreation and leisure activities</strong>. Bracebridge Hall also facilitates an active alumni program. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Bracebridge Hall employs a multidisciplinary team comprised of physicians, psychiatrists, substance abuse and mental health counselors, nurses, case managers, an on-site chef, and a support team. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Bracebridge Hall's treatment facility is an elegantly-appointed mansion situated on Chesapeake Bay. Residents enjoy either spacious <strong>double-occupancy bedrooms or private rooms</strong>. Each room features ultra-soft pillowtop mattresses and bedding, as well as HDTVs. The facility's grounds feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, <strong>full-sized basketball and tennis court</strong>, a yoga studio, and a 150-foot dock overlooking the Chesapeake. </p> <p>The facility provides <strong>farm-to-table cuisine</strong> prepared by an on-site chef. Optional amenities include personal trainers and spa services. Unique to Bracebridge Hall, the facility also allows clients access to computers and phones.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>While Rehabs.com has yet to receive alumni feedback to date, secondary sources revealed polarized opinions of the facility. On the facility's Facebook page, which the facility can manage, <strong>11 individuals gave the facility an average rating of 3.6 out of five stars</strong><small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>. Positive reviewers tended to praise the luxurious accommodations and the facility's staff. "Fantastic facility, supportive & dedicated staff,"Carrie, a representative reviewer, wrote. Many of the negative reviewers did not elaborate on their experience. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, Heather, was overall critical of the facility. Out of five stars, she gave a perfect five-star rating for the facility's accommodation and amenities, but gave a two-star rating for its overall effectiveness, reporting issues regarding communication with staff. "To me this place spends more money making the facility into a luxury rehab than it does hiring trained competent people!"
