<p><strong>ABOUT PATHWAYS ALCOHOL AND DRUG TREATMENT CENTER</strong></p> <p>Pathways Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center is owned and operated by the Anne Arundel Medical Center. From a roadside campus near downtown Annapolis, Md., it provides a full continuum of treatment programs for <strong>adults and teens</strong> <strong>struggling with</strong> <strong>addiction and co-occurring disorders</strong>.</p> <p>Pathways offers <strong>medically monitored detox</strong> and an <strong>inpatient program</strong>, through outpatient detox, partial hospitalization, general and intensive outpatient programming, and continuing care.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>For adults and teens alike, treatment includes <strong>24-hour medical/nursing care</strong>, group counseling, 12-step groups, spirituality groups, <strong>addiction and recovery education,</strong> aftercare planning, and nutrition education. Family involvement is integral; Pathways holds family wellness workshops and weekly education sessions for families. Additionally, there’s an adventure therapy program featuring a ropes course. This aims to build self-awareness, confidence, and trust.</p> <p>Residents in the teen program have access to <strong>the Pathways School program,</strong> which helps them fulfill basic schooling requirements during their stay. Led by a master’s level special education teacher, the program provides instruction and tutoring along with <strong>pre-GED evaluation, preparation, and testing.</strong></p> <p>Pathways also offers DWI/DUI education programs, helping previous offenders recognize and prevent their drinking and driving tendencies. There are six-week and 26-week options.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, the treatment team includes physicians, psychiatrists, registered nurses, mental health clinicians, counselors, family therapists, case managers, and adventure therapists.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>This is a <strong>40-bed facility</strong>. Teens sleep in private rooms, while adults share doubles. All rooms come with private bathrooms, and there is a gym on-site. Rehabs.com survey respondents gave four- and five-star ratings for cleanliness.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, Rehabs.com received feedback from four alumni of Pathways Anne Arundel Medical Center. <strong>Ratings for treatment effectiveness were mixed</strong>. Alum C.J. reported, "It was a decent facility. However, I relapsed after 3 mnths," but contrastingly, alum S.M. wrote, "Was never able to maintain longterm sobriety until Pathways. Now 8 years sober."</p> <p>Alum S.M. chose to enter rehab because of a family intervention and chose this facility in particular based on a personal search. The client has been out of the facility for over 12 months, left before completing treatment successfully, and did not enter sober living after treatment. This respondent also gave a four- out five-star rating for accommodations &amp; amenities. She agreed when asked if the facility offered excellent leisure, exercise, and extracurricular options; if the facility’s cell phone and visitation policy was fair; and if there were many counseling options to choose from depending on the client’s preference. When asked about the facility’s strengths, she wrote “concurrent treatment of mental health needs when seen for substance abuse.” When asked about weaknesses she wrote, “none come to mind.”</p> <p>The anonymous friend or family member of another client gave the facility a four- out of five-star rating for treatment effectiveness and meals &amp; nutrition. He gave the facility a three- out of five-star rating for accommodations &amp; amenities. “Staff was kind, accommodating and there are several treatment options.
