<p><strong>ABOUT THE COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE (CADA) BOSSIER TREATMENT CENTER</strong></p> <p>The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) operates 14 substance abuse treatment programs in northwest Louisiana. Bossier Treatment Center provides <strong>residential treatment programs for adults</strong>, including those with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. Also offering a <strong>specialized program for mothers</strong>, the facility is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/LA16.pdf" target="_blank">seven substance abuse treatment facilities in the state</a> to house children of clients. <strong>Medically-supported detoxification is available on-site</strong>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Bossier Treatment Center runs several residential programs for adults. <strong>High Intensity Residential</strong> begins upon completion of medical detox and provides 24-hour care. Clients engage in general and <strong>gender-specific therapy groups</strong>, one-on-one-counseling, family sessions, relapse prevention workshops, educational lectures, <strong>12-step groups</strong>, and daily exercise and recreation.</p> <p><strong>Low Intensity Residential</strong> is a halfway house program, to which many clients transition from High Intensity Residential as <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">a form of extended care.</a> Participants receive group therapy along with individual counseling, as needed. They also attend <strong>12-step support groups</strong>, engage in supervised social and recreational activities, seek employment, further their education, or receive vocational training.</p> <p><strong>Residential Treatment for Mothers</strong>, a program for pregnant women and women with children up to 12 years of age, lasts an <strong>average of three months</strong>. Clients attend group and individual therapy as well as educational groups. Children also participate in therapy, and those of <strong>school-age are enrolled in school</strong> or a Head Start program.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, the treatment team includes a program director, licensed professional counselors, and registered addiction counselors. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The facility’s website does not offer information about its living arrangements. However, clients are advised to bring towels and washcloths, a pillow with a plastic bed bug pillow case, and a phone card for making long distance calls. Cell phones and cameras are prohibited. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The one former client polled by Rehabs.com to date offered negative feedback for the facility. Alum Kar gave a negative review of the facility, offering one and two-star ratings (out of five) for most evaluated metrics, including the staff's level of training and experience and the effectiveness of group and individual counseling sessions. "Treatment and accommodations could be better," the alum wrote.</p> <p>On secondary review sites, the facility received <strong>favorable feedback</strong>, including an average 4.1 out of five-star rating based on nine reviews on Google reviews and 4.4 out of five stars from seven reviews on its unofficial Facebook page. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> On Google, the seven positive reviewers did not leave commentary with their mainly five-star ratings, however, the two negative reviewers criticized the lack of counseling and the family program. </p> <p>On Facebook, the six reviewers praised the facility, specifically the staff and its programming.“Cada Bossier saved my life and taught me how to be a sober parent. I absolutely love this organization!” Mellisa, a representative reviewer, wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing also gave the facility a highly positive review, offering five-star ratings for the facility's visitor policy, the level of staff training and experience, and the amount of staff support. “I have had two loved ones go there and they, really helped them,” J.S. wrote. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, CADA accepts private health insurance, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna, as well as <strong>(Louisiana & Texas) Medicaid</strong>.
