ABOUT PADUCAH LIFELINE MINISTRIES β€” WOMEN'S LONG-TERM RESIDENTIAL

Located in rural southwestern Kentucky, Paducah Lifeline Ministries provides long-term, faith-based treatment to individuals struggling with substance use disorder. Known as "Ladies Living Free," the women's program provides residential treatment for up to nine months. It's one of 145 Kentucky treatment facilities to offer specialized treatment for women, which make up about 40 of all facilities in the state.

Paducah Lifeline Ministries also has a similar residential program for men, which is located about eight miles from Ladies Living Free.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The application for admission to Ladies Living Free, which is available online, requires histories and other information related to medical and mental health, legal status, family, education, church or spirituality, and substance use. There's also a direct question regarding sexuality. After submitting the application, all potential clients must come to the facility for an in-person admissions interview.

Among the stated goals of the recovery program are the rehabilitation of relationships, development of life skills, and understanding of oneself in the context of Christian beliefs. Clients are expected to attend Celebrate Recovery meetings (a faith-based 12-step group), as well as one-on-one counseling sessions, anger management workshops, Christian living classes, and sexual purity groups.

The first 90 days of treatment focus on behavioral changes, and include an intense curriculum of religious and addiction-related education and counseling. Gender-specific sessions address trauma, parenting, and emotion management. In subsequent phases, programming incorporates vocational preparation and financial management.

During the second 90 days, women obtain daytime employment and continue attending treatment sessions in the evenings at the residential facility. Residents also earn opportunities for visitation outside the home, leading up to a final three-month phase of program participation while living independently.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The founder of Ladies Living Free has more than a dozen years in personal recovery experience, and several staff members are graduates of the program. Other treatment team members include licensed counselors and volunteers. To date, the sole individual polled by Rehabs.com on the staff's level of training and experience awarded it five out of five stars.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Residents live in a large, secluded house surrounded by trees. Website photographs feature leafy outdoor spaces and a pond, along with sunlit lounges, group meeting rooms, and shared bedrooms.
