<p><strong>ABOUT LIFESKILLS, INC. PARK PLACE RECOVERY CENTER</strong></p> <p>Park Place Recovery Center, a LifeSkills, Inc. facility in Bowling Green, Ky., provides <strong>residential treatment for adults</strong> struggling with advanced or chronic substance use disorder. The <strong>gender-specific</strong> rehab, which provides separate programs for men and women, is one of 143 substance abuse treatment centers in Kentucky (<a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/KY17.pdf" target="_blank">40 percent</a>) to offer programming tailored to men. It's also one of 155 treatment facilities in the state (<a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/KY17.pdf" target="_blank">43 percent</a>) to offer programming tailored to women. During a typical <strong>28-day stay</strong>, residents undergo <strong>non-medical detox</strong> (if needed), are introduced to the <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/did-aa-save-my-life/" target="_blank">12-step model of recovery</a>, and participate in group, individual, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family therapy</a>. Groups attended by clients include psychosocial education and <strong>recreation therapy</strong>, as well as local, community-based 12-step meetings.</p> <p>According to a current staff member surveyed by Rehabs.com, Park Place Recovery Center also provides <strong>medication-assisted treatment (MAT)</strong> to clients battling <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-are-opiate-addicts-so-hard-to-treat/" target="_blank">opioid dependency</a>. In 2017, 5,226 individuals were receiving MAT in Kentucky, making up about 1.4 percent of individuals receiving MAT at a national level.</p> <p>Following completion of the residential program, clients are invited to participate in <strong>weekly <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare</a> sessions</strong>. Additionally, the facility will provide referrals for psychiatric services for clients struggling with co-occurring disorders.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team at Park Place Recovery include <strong>therapists</strong>, registered nurses, and behavioral health specialists.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The <strong>20-bed facility</strong> is located in a residential area of Bowling Green, surrounded by trees, private homes, and a baseball field. Women and men are housed separately.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Of the three former clients surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave Park Place Recovery positive feedback and one offered a negative review. The two satisfied alumni indicated that treatment was effective and staff were knowledgeable and kind. "Its a friendly place,for a rehab," wrote Jennifer in a representative review. "But they taught me a lot about my disease I didn't know about." She also reported not being active in the family therapy offered at Park Place. </p> <p>The second family member surveyed by Rehabs.com, an 18-to-25-year old female whose brother was in treatment, gave the facility four or five stars for almost all metrics evaluated, including cleanliness, connectivity, administrative and discharge procedures, the staff's level of training and experience, affordability, and family participation. "Guidance and help was also given to the family members that gave insight to addiction," she wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>R.S., the one employee surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, provided very positive feedback and awarded the facility five out of five stars across all metrics evaluated. A current addiction tech/aid at Park Place Recovery, the staffer highlighted the therapeutic value of the facility's program, also citing specific treatment modalities used, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.</p> <p>On Indeed<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small>, LifeSkills as a whole earned an average rating of <strong>3.6 out of five stars</strong> based on 18 reviews.
