<p><strong>ABOUT REGIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CENTER - STRAWHUN CENTER</strong></p> <p>Regional Mental Health Center operates two residential facilities and more than a dozen outpatient locations in Illinois and Indiana. Individuals may make an appointment or drop in for an evaluation five days a week. If inpatient detox support is recommended, clients can begin with this one- to five-day process, followed either by continued residential care or transition to an intensive outpatient program. <strong>A typical residential stay lasts between eight and 10 days</strong>, although clients may remain for up to 30 days. During and after detoxification, residents participate in both group and individual therapy and are <strong>introduced to 12-step principles and practices</strong>.</p> <p>For primary mental health disorder treatment, residents spend up to seven days in a separate locked unit with 24-hour psychiatric and clinical care.</p> <p>The separate outpatient program also offers special counseling services to address gambling addiction.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Treatment team members at Regional Mental Health Center's Strawhun Center include a <strong>board certified addictionologist</strong>, multiple psychiatrists, social workers, additional master's-level therapists, and licensed addiction counselors. Some staff are fluent in Spanish.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Residential clients in the substance abuse program stay in a <strong>locked, non-medical unit</strong>, with an in-house pharmacy. For the mental health program, residents over the age of 18 stay in a locked hospital unit with <strong>16 beds</strong>. The facility is tobacco-free and visitation is scheduled once a week.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole former client polled extensively by Rehabs.com to date provided <strong>mixed ratings</strong> for the facility.
