<p><strong>ABOUT FOUR COUNTY COUNSELING CENTER</strong></p> <p>Serving a five-county area in Indiana, Four County Counseling Center provides behavioral health treatment for <strong>youth and adults struggling with psychiatric disorders and/or chemical dependency</strong>. Headquartered out of Logansport, Ind., the nonprofit runs <strong>inpatient, residential, and outpatient-based programs</strong> designed to treat primary psychiatric disorders and outpatient programming for substance abuse and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. Youth services include in-home and school-based programs.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>To help determine a course of treatment, clients undergo an initial psychiatric assessment with a team of doctoral-level psychologists. Once a diagnosis is determined, clients are referred to the appropriate level of care. As stated, <strong>substance abuse treatment is provided on an outpatient basis</strong> and is available in both traditional and intensive capacities. Through the <strong>Medication Clinic</strong>, available in Logansport and several satellite locations, adults may receive medication, monitoring, and education.</p> <p>With sessions held in Cass and Miami Counties, outpatient substance abuse programming consists of <strong>group therapy sessions</strong> and an introduction to the 12-step model of recovery. <strong>Specialized dual diagnosis groups</strong>, women’s groups, bilingual groups, and relapse prevention groups all take place here. To accommodate various scheduling needs, outpatient sessions are held both morning and evening.</p> <p>Where psychiatric stabilization is required, Four County’s 15-bed, co-ed, acute inpatient facility may be recommended. Here, clients take part in <strong>psychotherapy and receive ongoing medication management</strong>. Once stable, adults may receive further assistance and support through Four County’s group living homes (for those with severe mental illness) and transitional homes (for those reintegrating back into their communities). Both programs are in Cass County.</p> <p>Available to all ages, outpatient psychiatric treatment features <strong>individual, couples’, and family counseling</strong>, as well as medication management. Led by case managers trained in evidence-based practices, <strong>at-home and in-school youth services</strong> help children and their families manage stress and overcome behavioral concerns.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Four County Counseling Center employs more than 230 professionals across its 10 service locations. These behavioral health professionals include psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed counselors and therapists, and case managers. <strong>Registered play therapists</strong> work with children.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The <strong>medically supervised, co-ed, 15-bed inpatient facility</strong> offers a therapeutic, comfortable environment conducive to stabilization. <strong>Residential group living homes are supervised by clinical specialists, while transitional homes offer more freedom</strong>. Residents in transitional homes, comprised of four separate apartments, are responsible for household chores, meal planning, and cooking.</p> <p>In their Rehabs.com survey, a loved one considered the “locked” inpatient unit a facility strength.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Gabrielle, the sole former client polled by Rehabs.com as of this writing, reported mixed findings on the facility. “I had some counselors who were great at listening and giving advice,” she shared. “Yet the cost of getting help was a downfall. In addition, they sometimes recommended more help than I needed.”</p> <p>While alum Gabrielle reported excellent dual diagnosis treatment, giving this aspect of treatment five stars, she did find the counseling options and holistic opportunities somewhat limited, awarding only one- and two-star ratings for these categories, respectively.</p> <p><strong>Secondary sites revealed similarly mixed feedback</strong>. Together, the four respondents produced an average rating of 3.2 stars for the facility.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p><strong>The pair of loved ones reporting to Rehabs.com to date were critical.</strong> While one respondent gave three stars for the staff’s level of training and experience, the counseling options, and the family inclusion, they felt the inpatient unit was “understaffed,” adding: “Would not likely recommend.”</p> <p>The other gave the lowest possible rating for the facility’s treatment effectiveness, and felt that the facility was “all about money.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the center regarding its treatment costs.
