<p><strong>ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT CENTER</strong></p> <p>Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center in Charleston, Ind. is one of five facilities operated by Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Centers, an organization that provides <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/medication-assisted-treatment/" target="_blank"><strong>medication-assisted treatment</strong></a> for clients with <strong>opioid addiction</strong>. Located 12 miles northeast of Louisville, Ky., this center offers <strong>outpatient treatment</strong> for adults over the age of 18. Detox is not available on site. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment at Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center begins with an assessment by the facility’s medical team. Clients are enrolled in the outpatient program focusing on a variety of opioid treatment options. Clients participate in a physical exam and drug tests, as well as TB and pregnancy tests (where applicable).</p> <p>Clients must have a confirmed one or more year history of opioid addiction. Also, clients cannot have an active prescription for opiate medications. Clients are drug tested to ensure that they have not used for at least 24 hours prior to admission. </p> <p>Clients that are pregnant should not experience withdrawal symptoms during the admission process. Clients must be cleared by their OB/GYN for treatment. Clients must also file the appropriate release of information forms for the treatment staff to access their records. </p> <p>Treatment focuses on medication management using methadone, suboxone, subutex, and vivitrol. Medications are administered by a physician and nursing staff members during office hours. Clients also participate in individual and group therapy options to support their sober living changes. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to its website, Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center employs doctors and nurses as well as “qualified and experienced counselors”. The staff has experience working with rehabilitation clients. The facility is CARF accredited.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, Rehabs.com had received two alumni reviews of this facility, one of which was extremely positive, the other of which was mixed. </p> <p>One reviewer gave the facility five out of five stars for all 15 aspects of treatment evaluated, including the facility’s treatment effectiveness, family participation, and the staff’s level of experience. “Great Theripists. Wonderful experience,” the anonymous alum wrote.</p> <p>The other alum gave the facility two or three stars for most aspects of the program, including holistic offerings, counseling options, and ability to treat co-occurring mental health problems. The alum listed the counselors as a facility strength and gave the staff level of experience a three-star rating. “My counselor gives me strength and hope that I can recover,” the anonymous alum told Rehabs.com and added, “However, there is not enough staff.”</p> <p>However, both alumni agreed about the facility’s cleanliness, which they gave five out of five stars.</p> <p>On Google, the center had a four out of five star average rating based on 48 reviews to date. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> <strong>Several Google reviewers credited the facility with saving their lives and felt the program was effective for those who want treatment</strong>. “This place saved me and helped me to get my life and family back. If you do the program right and stay clean this program will help you too,” Crystal wrote. “If you enter this specific treatment program, and are serious about your rehabilitation, it is a great program,” alum Nicol wrote on Google.</p> <p>Reviews left on CiteHealth averaged an overall rating of 3.25 stars based on eight reviews and included similar comments as those on Google. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> “I have been here several years and it has helped me a lot it has gotten me back to normal I have great job an my family back my counselor really helps an listens,” an anonymous reviewer wrote to CiteHealth.</p> <p><strong>Several clients on both third-party sites wrote the center is understaffed and busy</strong>. One CiteHealth reviewer wrote anonymously, “This facility has so many people that go to it that its hard for them to give a very good level of care.” An alum on Google pointed out that this was the only choice in the area.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center accepts insurance plans. However, not all services may be covered. In most cases, clients must pay for services up front and bill their insurance companies for reimbursement.
